excuse me does anyone know how to put a password on a normal file because i have tryed and tryed but still havent figured out how to.

Try compressing the file (using some kind of archive) and then setting a password

It depends on what program you are using to create the archive, but anyway it should be in the options menu

do you no how to do it without compressing anything because i still want to get in and out of it

use Winzip.
zip the file and put a password on.

if you are using profiles and you are on a NTFS system, you can go to the properties of the folder/file and set the security level for each individual user.
but that means that people who log in awith your profile can access that.
there is a program that can set passwords and such to folders ect/ ive never used it but some say its ok www.softheap.com and security files
