I have downloaded a file from the net.It was a 291 MB .rar file.
Then I have extracted the .iso file from that archive. When I checked the file size of that .iso because it was decompressing really long I found that was 3.94 GB!!!:eek2:
How is that possible? From a file size of 3.94 GB make a 291 mb file?!
Please help me on this one!

Naybe a maxi image?

Those files are filled withe zeros the rest of the content is fake. Just to bypass copyproections but dont serve to install a game o program
}

or maybe file compressed on several volumes per volumes ?

No,it really works!
It is PS2 game and I can play on my PC with no problem.
I can even mount it with Alcohol, and reports that the image file is really 3.94 GB!
I would post the link where I downloaded the game, but the file is from a torrent.
And that is not legal on the forums.

The file must have a lot of unused space in it.

I have a database here, and it will compress to at least one tenth of its original size, just by using winzip. Obviously winrar would do even better.

Be thankful you saved so much downloading!

Thanks for the welcome, you have a good memory :)

The avatar was just brain, pinky wasn't included.

These days I'm mostly at 1Emulation and at Mameworld forums.

Plus, I work on emulators such as MisfitMAME and MESS.

So, rarely get to visit other places such as here.
Seems like activity has dropped considerably since a few years ago.
Lots of other places are having the same problem. Ah well.

Yes you are right this place is not visited as used to be. Maybe people have things to attend on their real life.

Thanks for the reply.Sorry it took me so long to reply.I managed with new WinRar 3.80 to make from 670MB to around 190MB.That is enough compression for me.

Then improved coz the Winrar compression ratio used to be very bad
