Hello, I'm in a bit of a spot at the moment, I have a job interview on the 17th regarding a Computer Technician position at a local web design/hosting business.

The add that I responded to mentions that Windows and Linux small office server experience is preffered. The problem I have, is that I know very little about server operation and upkeep.

So I'm here asking for help regarding servers. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Dont know exactly what are you looking for.

Maybe this can help you?

Keep in mind on Windows The server Os from M$ genearally will be Windows Server 2003 or 2008 (sucesors of NT). And Linux depends on the disrto you are going to set since there are a lot of them. Some Linux distros have corporate esditions but cost money (but with support included) differnt from only Open source oses for desktop users

Mandriva has its corporate edition. Red Hat has its own one called Red hat Enterprise and ubuntu I guess has is own opne but withe difference seems the Ubuntu one is completely free

Hope this helps
