Ok now im getting chessed off. :cussing:
I understand if a film comes out in the states first,it will come out on dvd there b4 here in the uk.But whats got my rags is that Dog Soldiers is a BRITSIH movie,yet its come out in the states first and we dont get it till feb 2003.

Something is wrong here,its not right.

Bit like when Jap cars get built here, then shipped back to Japan, and it's cheaper for us to get them shipped back again rather than buy one here.

thats where the money is tho m8... why sell it in uk where (no disrespect intended) its sales wont get any where near that of the USA... but the pirate market will have their bite... rather send it to the states and try gettin the money rollin bigger and quicker

its the same with aus movies... they tend to go overseas first

I see what your saying ......... but still its not the point.Its the principle of the matter.

Bend it like beckham and ali g in the house are both BRITISH movies and there out on dvd here first.Ali G dont have a usa release date and bend it like beckham comes out next year in the states.But both are out over here in the UK.

Who every decided to release it in the states first needs a good slap !.

when and where a movis is released is a marketing decission. ali g and beckam are relative unknowns in the US so the smartest way to do it is to release it in the UK, wait for it to get good reviews then float it in the states when people have actualy heard about it. the best place to release a movie first is where it will make the most money, for most of the big movies that means the US

Still I agree that if a movie was made in a particular country then it should be released at the same time even as the US

Don't complain there m8, if comes in UK in Feb, then we'll probably have it in Bulgaria in Feb too.... Feb 2004 that is... :(

no use having grizzles about release dates... facts are they (movie makers) will always look at $$$ before they honour their own country. they hire analysts to look after this aspect. thats the way it is and always be

Movies get released in the US first because i heard that if they aren't released there first, they don't do aswell.
