Whats better residnet evil or silent hill series?

Which is better for playstation the resident evil series or the silent hill series I am looking for story,gameplay,scare factor,graphics,sound everything that makes a horror game good. I am new the horror types in games but I want to give it a go so which is better and tell me why just dont to like silent hill or something like that thanks

resident evil is better, its now a classic and very popular, but i dont think th story is up 2 much.....

imo dino crisis is good as well for that kind of stuff psd2freak asked for...3 way tie between re...sh..and dino crisis...very good games NO psx should be caught without if they like horror games

Oh yeah I own silent hill for psx but the farthest I have been into it is like 30mins its pretty good so far and for the resident evil series well I think I might have to leave thos out of the picture after the new generation games I cant go back to my psx games nor n64 games but I will try to finish silent hill. I am thinking about getting the other 2 in the series and if resident evil online comes out soon I will get that for the action.


But everyone seems to favor resident evil series more so I might go and buy the first resident evil for psx and probally resident evil code veronica for ps2 I will just buy both series I guess and than decide which is better.

ok I think I am going to get resident evil code veronica for ps2 but how does it compare to the others in the series is it the best a good one but not the best or just horrible to the series? or if I am new to the series would this be a good game to start out with?

I have only played Silent Hill 1, but I have played all of the Resident Evil games and watched the movie, so RE gets my vote :)

Compare to other Resident evils, code veronica has better graphics, you get to play 2 characters (just like RE2), great gameplay, creepy and action music makes this game one of the best, and the most important thing is in CR you can kill monsters with your knife much easier than the other games (when you run out of ammo, which it "will" happen to you). There are plenty of more positive points to this game but don't feel like typing too much. You can read more @ gamespot.com.

EDIT: ign gave the game 6.5 even tho he made the game sound a little better than what he gave it. He also gave it that score like he said he is tired of the series but from what I have read I like.

The only thing that worrys me is the controls but I can get used to them like I have in everyother game with bad controls.

I have decided to go with mainly the resident evil series and I will try to play silent hill 1 till the end.

dude get a game cube n buy re 0 1 2 3 n 4 aswome, code veronica is really good also, silent hill i really don't like it probably sl 3 will be good it'll soon be out. also fatal frame rocks i haven't play the xbox version but it must be good since it just got out.

I dont need nor want a gc at the moment I dont want to get a gc for that series than not even like the series even tho there are some other really good games that I would really like for gc.

nope I have never played the games but I have seen screen shots of the games and I have seen about 5mins of resident evil2 being played but thats it.

Get both if you can, it depends on what you like more, action and horror (RE)...or pure creepiness with a twist (SH). I wasn't impressed with Silent Hill's storyline, but that Pyramid Head in SH2!! :eek: *shivers* :eek: Lol. :D

I am going for both I guess..................... I am getting resident evil code veronica for ps2 and I have silent hill for psx I have just never played it for more than 20mins.
