add cheat codes to game

hello
i have a problem.there are some cheat codes but i don´t have a clue how to pput them to my game.i am playing now "HALF LIFE 2", and i was reading on that site whitch code i must put, but i don´t know how to do that.Can somebody help me please and whrite me down step by step, what to do, because i am not very good with computers.I´ve started not so long ago using comp, and because of that i don´t understand everything perfect, but i am fast learning so it wan´t be such a big problem.

To enable the developer console, in the game hit Esc > Options > Keyboard > Advanced... > "Enable developer console (~)"

Then input the code on that list ;)

I have the same problem that I am unable to implement the cheat codes but while going through the above suggestion I find that I am able to win this game also.
