Please Help With Gears Of War For Pc

I know there has been a lot of problems with gears of war, I know there are issues with wargame-g4wlive.exe....


my problem is that finally I fixed the stuttering( set to low resolution and then changed the resolution in game ) and i was able to play right through the first three acts, after about half an hour to an hour through those acts i would get the dreaded wargame-gw4live.exe crash but no big deal as I could play for a while and just reload.

i got to act 4 the second mission where you face a berserker and it crashes at the exact same point every time, as soon as I go towards the wheel you have to turn off it crashes, i simply cannot go forward, I try to load act 5 mission 1 which is always available from the beginning and it crashes right away without loading the level. it seems like everything from act four mission 2 onwards will not load.

any thoughts....i hate the thought of investing so much time up until act 4 and now nothing works.

i tried installing patches, using msconfig to not load everything at windows startup, tried the pagepoolsize set to "FFFFFFFF"...nothing works.

no need to be rude but this is an original .exe and everybody has been having problems with this game.

Indeed Dip was not rude but it looks more you are too desperate and a bit paranoid :eek2:

Problems with crashes its can be done by too many things that is difficult now exactly whats going on

Since you said original exe we can discard a no cd for as prob now

But also when you get the crash do you get some error message on it? Could useful if you post what says

Also you said Live so the crash should be when are on Multiplayer but does also Sp crash?

If is MP only chek if there is no firewall that could be blocking the game to access the net if so disable it temporally and try again

Also maybe too simplistic but chek if the game have some patch available

And also chek the official game page or maybe the Microsoft page can have some Knowledge basa where you could chek for reported errors for the game maybe that info could help you to fix it

Also chek if there is some official game forum could some users there that could have also reported that. I don't know if Gears of Wars have one but Ages of Empires 3 have it
