Help!!! Half Life Loading Error

Ok
I have half life 2 and want to be able to play it on my laptop.
I have loaded it up and everything works will until i get to the loading between levels i get this error:

Click on OK to terminate the program

Are you using Steam or not?

With an error like that I heavily suspect your not using it, something like that is usally the result of bad coding, so its possibly you have a defective file somewhere.

What spec is your laptop btw?

This is the same problem I got, its normally no solutions for this unless you are:

1 Using 2 RAM sticks, remove one of them and it can maybe work
2 The game is super sensitive to overclocking even though you have never overclocked you computer, try to use google to find out how to underclock your computer a little, maybe if youre lucky thos will fixs your problem.

I have given up on fixing HL2 for my computer, I`m not gonna try and play it before I got a new computer.
