PS One Backups Without A Mod Chip?

I have a PS One, and I was just wondering if there is a way to play backup games without an internal mod chip. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

I believe that there is a very rare sighting of a proggy that can make one or two games for the ps one self bootable, but I do not know it and it may or may not be a hoax... it may or may not work... i believe just hearing it from somewhere.. and no the boot disks dont work.

you can buy the psx xchange boot disc ,but it kinda sucks chip is better
