View Full Version : Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour- "Serious Error"

Guys,

I installed Command & Conquer Generals Zero Hour (CnC ZH) today, and wen i tried to play it, it says this...

Technical Difficulties....

You have encountered a serious error. Serious errors can be caused by many things like viruses, overheated hardware, hardware not supporting the minimum system requirements...blah..blah...

and at the bottom there is a "OK" button.. thats it..

So wat shud be done for this ?? I successfully played CnC Gen, CnC 3 Tiberium WArs on my PC (P-4, 2Ghz, 2GB DDR RAM, nVIDIA Ge Force 7600 GS--256 MB)

An Exactly same problem was reported in this thread:

THis is the same problem I get, but there were no successful replies... :(

Things tried by me:
1.) Installed ZH in the same folder where Generals was installed(x: drive), RESULT: SERIOUS ERROR
2.) Installed ZH in folder other than Generals but in same Drive, RESULT: SERIOUS ERROR
3.) Isntalled ZH on c: drive and generals on other drive (x: drive), RESULT: SERIOUS ERROR

Please Note: x: drive is NOT an external drive, its just another partition created by me in my HDD wich stores all the games, similarly i have a m: Drive for music and so on :)


Please help...

SO any solutions guys ??

I even tried replacing the options.ini with another one, still same problem....
Installed ZH in NTFS partition of my HDD, Same PRoblem... :(

I seem to remember having a similar problem, that was caused by a no-cd crack (or maybe it was a mini-image) when using the game on Windows XP x64. Either way, I got the game working using the crack/mini-image on XP 32-bit. Not sure if that helps you, but it worked for me.

Which file? Do you want a crack? If so, check http://www.gamecopyworld.com

Not sure how much it'll be though, my problem originated from using the crack on XP 64-bit.

I also got that error when I used a dodgy no-cd crack, I think the only way I got it working was with a mini-image.

I had the same message. Not when I start but when I have played for a couple hours. I put a fan next to my pc and it actually stopped my pc from doing that crash! I dont use a mini image crack, I have a .exe and it works fine. I updated ZH to 1.4 but cracked with 1.0 cos 1.4 crack didnt work?!
