Elite or Premium? [Archive]

I'm getting a 360 in 2 days, which should I get the elite or premium? Is the only difference between them the hard drive size? What about Red Ring of Deaths? Is there a certain sku maybe that has diminished these? ANd also is that cooling accessory worth looking into getting?

I went with Premium, the Elite is good but not worth 100 more for me... I have a cooling fan.

Elite also has HDMI output - if you don't have an empty HDMI input on your television, it's not worth it.

So If I don't have a HD Tv you say go with the premium and get the cooling device?

I agree with Dip, if you have no HDTV and don't plan on getting one in the near future, go with the Premium, the bigger drive space is for saving HD content and stuff like that and obviously whatever else you put on there, but I recon that was one of the main reasonings behind it.

I think getting the cooling device would be a good investment no matter which version you buy, better safe than sorry. :)

I got mine launch day, and I don't believe mine has it (then again, haven't played it in about 6 months lol) - any idea which shipment yours came?

It's the newer one, was made in Sept 07 I think. All of the new ones have more heat syncs and HDMI ports, I think.
