That sounds pretty damn tough. If he's unable to get a new one, then he should probably try contacting the game developer, or sadly buy a new one.

There are some programs on the net to recover data from scratched cds but the rate of sucess also depends of deteriorated the disk is

He should go and buy a new copy and learn not to be so stupid in future!!!
I have been playing games on all sorts of formats for more years than I care to remember.
I have never once had a disk, damaged while it was inside the drive, so I really can't see how your "mate" managed to have such an "accident".
Maybe he is just too stupid to have an Xbox!

Mabe your to stupid to be a memeber of this forum? Everyone can have a accident and the fact that it doesnt happened to you, dont change the fact that it can happen, and ++++ happens, my littlebrother accidentily kicked my ps2 so he destroyed a game. LOL shill out.

I totally screwed my copy of Timesplitters: Future Perfect while playing it on the PS2 when it accidently fell on the floor.

I had to pay £15 to get it replaced, it was like a week after my entitlement to a free replacement had expired, sods law. :(

So yeah, there isn't alot you can do about scratched discs, just contact Microsoft and say you bought it like that and the shop wouldn't replace it. ;)

hahaha random that thought did cross my mind ;)....nah ill get it resurfaced for him and see if it still works...it fell off the platform when he nicked the box....coz you are not meant to move the box when the cd is running in it....
and nivek dont bother posting if you have nothing constructive to say...accidents happen!!!

That is too aggresive

Come on Nivek don't be always so grumpy. Anyone can damage their disk it's impossible getting without any scratches or dust at all. They are not indestructible . I have seen sometimes cases the disks could be damaged inside the drive. Sometimes if the drive of a computer is not correctly attached with with the screws and fall inside the case can damage the disk inside. One time I had an old drive and i tried to read some music cd. Inserted the disk make a rare noises the drive so I opened the tray and that drive made an horrible scratches on the disk. I used other disks with that drive and never do that with others Other times if you don't insert correctly the disk in the tray and you close it and part f the disk is out and te other inside and you reopen he tray thia also can damage os scratch the disk. Other times just the use of the disk makes this happen

Thats the worst most mean thing I`ve ever heard, thats illegal and they check the cd before they give refunds. Dont do this cause nothing good will come out of this:angryfire

I think you just got lucky... when I opened my 360 when it was new, it said right on the disc tray (on a sticker) that moving the console with a disc inside will scratch games.

The "snazy" Disk scratch removers sadly don't work very well... my best suggestion would be to tell a little white lie and take the disk back and say something like: i was playing and suddenly it froze so i opened it up and took the disk out and it was scratched... lol sorry that is pretty much what people said b4 but there isn't much you can do to help it sorry... scratched disks suck! Here have mine =)... haha jkjkjk lol YOU CAN NEVER HAVE IT... oh and try not to bump your 360 in the future... keep it out of walk ways and open areas. and NEVER NEVER SPILL ANYTHING ON IT OR ELSE YOU WILL ANGER THE 360 GODS WITCH WILL HAVE DIRE CONSEQUENCES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! =O
