Big Problem!!

I installed windows updates on my XP pro and restarted the machine, but I had some problems with my D: disk so I started to run Scandisk to scan it for errors, now it has been on fase 4 of the scaning for 20minutes without progress and I cant open the D: disk. What is happening and what can I do to stop Scandisk? Needs help ASAP!!!

20 minutes is short. You can't stop the scandisk. Just wait.

once ive had avg scan my computer for 2 hours, so just wait because it all depends on how many files u have on your computer

Ummmm, the scanning is finished but I cant open the D: disk, damn, I`m gonna throw this #¤&/&% in the trash, I need a new laptop.
