Madden 2008 XBL question

Ive been playing for a good 2 weeks now.
Got pretty much 15 wins 20 losses with a DNF at 30%

Im still at skill level 1 and unranked, how do you gain rank online?

Not totally sure since I didn't get Madden 08(or 07 for that matter).
Is your present rank based on online play?
My PGR3 rankings and level change with online race results.
So perhaps EA has split the rankings in a similar manner as well.
If the games are online, are you letting the game finish out?
On XBXLV 1.0 I got steamed at the hoseheads who would
bail out of a game they had lost right before it fully ended.
Evidently under 1.0 if you shut your console down before the
game program fully ran and closed, no loss on your part would be recorded.
You could complain to XBXLV, but whether or not anything ever
came of it is anyones guess.

It's not like I'm a badazz player either. I took my losses in stride no biggie.
It was the wins denied that gave me a bad taste of online sports.
I'll only play sports games in person, that way if you shut down the console
it is possible for me to pound the feathers out of you for being a chickenswipe.

That's a high DNF... you won't gain much ranking that way. I have it on PS2 but I only have a 5% DNF and am gaining levels very quickly now... winning helps but just finishing games helps too. But I have won something like 17 out of my last 18, so I have gotten points faster.

But mainly, finish games...
