HL2 DVD Version, Client.dll Errors, Rebuilding Graph Node...

Did a search on google on " Half Life 2 client.dll error" and found these forums. results directed me to a crack topic which didn't help out really. this probably has been posted somewhat before but this case is kinda special...

I'm running an AMD Turion X2 64 TL-64 Dual Core, 1Gig of RAM, Nvidia Geforce 7200 HP laptop with a pirated copy of a Dell based Windows Vista 32bit Ultimate.

I downloaded a cracked DVD version of HL2, did what the instructions said to do. start up HL2 and I get a provision menu that'll run HL2, DM, HL1 Source & CSS.


My computer would load HL2 till the frosted glass loading screen then would give me a Miles Error mss32.dll, I fixed this easly. Now I can start a new game but when loading I get "Graph node out of date, Rebuilding..." this is understandable from reading some other topics. The real kicker is after loading I get a client.dll error. I've downloaded several types and nothing has work. I've gotten Library errors, loading then returning to main menu, and crashing.


Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm sorry if I'm posting a topic that's already been delt with.:dance1:

The easiest way to fix this is to buy the game, read the rules, MGF do not support Warez.

I actually own the standard version of HL2, the disc set. Whenever I try installing HL2 from those discs I get to Disc 4 before I get a fatal error. The discs are clean and have very little scratches on them. No matter how much I clean them they always fail me. unfortunately my serial key has been used so I'm screwed with what I have now.

I just would like to know where I can download an Earlier version of Client.dll. After reading and searching for this damn file I've read that some of HL2's updates causes Client.dll to crash HL2, among other things.

Does MG know where I can get a link to a Valve earlier release of Client.dll or do I have to pirate another copy?

Have you tried the HL2_SP_Installer_V1-4? And what kind of error message do you get?

I believe when installation does crash the message that comes up is a .cab file error, something like "could not read" or "could not find". I've used my HL2 set before on my last computer a few years ago, so I know it worked at one point in time.

I'm certain it's not a Vista compatibility issue because I've installed some oldass games like Fallout 1 & 2 on my PC just recently. But I did run into that mss32.dll problem when mss32.dll is soposta be in your system32 folder in older operating systems.

What is HL2_SP_Installer_V1-4 exactly?

Just go to the relevant web site and look for the "support" or "contact" link.
There is no need to break laws by helping anyone who comes here crying because they are too stupid to get their illegal downloads to work!

As for owning the game, I do own it; discs, cardboard/box, and manual. I downloaded the cracked game simply because I didn't wish to purchase a SECOND copy of a game I already own in mint condition but ~faulty. Nor am I crying or stupid you goddamn faggot.

Valve support is useless, I've already asked for help with no answers, given several business days for a reply.

I came here because I thought someone would be able to direct me into the right direction of a download link. I've noticed one person help me among your thousand + memebers and now I'm getting flamed on my first f ucking thread.

This wont work on a illegal version, only on a legal version cause you need the working steam files from a legal cd, I tought that maybe the files needed to use HL2 SP Installer is ok, then it is possible to make a working HL2 version without instaling it. And people please watch you language here, edit your posts and remove the foul language, or else this thread might be closed and then no one gets help.

ohhh, and I almost forgot, HL2 SP installer is a program that unlocks and make HL2 playable without steam. It might work, if it is a old enough game cd of HL2 you got. If its a newer game cd then you have to install it first. Search the MGF for the HL2 SP installer, it is a link somewere.

I'll try this in a bit I suppose, atm I'm trying to reinstall from my original CDs. I'm looking at them right now and I see small tiny scratches on their surface, nothing to cause read/write errors but we'll see.

As for the language I used...I will not opoligize for when whatshisface started sh*t for no reason. Ban me, delete me, do whatever you like at least I got some help from someone.

If you own a legal version you simply need to contact valve and they will help you out.
If you have a legal version that is faulty, take it back to where you bought it from.
Downloading cracked games from the Internet is illegal so you wont get help around here.

I own a copy of HL2, I purchased this copy on the release date. the serial code was used and registered on my old computer. I see not why I should pay for a second serial code when I own the game. So I downloaded a keygen :)

No I didn't read the rules, just like many of the low count posters you have on these forums. They register and download the posted illegal cracks or post what they think is alright to be talking about.

Considering I was redirected to here from google to a thread that had zips and rars of cracks on it I figured it was alright to talk about my problem. These forums are hypocritical towards it's self.
