PS2 The Legend of Never Land Boot up issue

Hi Recently got Legend of Never Land PS2 game (second hand) for the kids. It half sort of loads and asks you to choose English or Espana langauge but the controller will not work on any buttons. ....any clues to either scratch on disk (it looks brand new) or other possible issues? Anyone had this sort of problem?

You could try it with another controller, or check it on another PS2, just to confirm the disc definetly isn't the problem.

You may also try a lens cleaner in your PS2 or a disc cleaner to rule out a dirty disc and dirtly lazer lens.

Best option to try on another console, if all else fails then find your recipt and take it back to where you bought it. If bought from a store you have the right to ask for a replacement as they sold you preowned but damaged goods.
