empire at war help

hi guys i need help with star wars empire at war.
i just brought it the other day and installed it last night, but when i go to play it only gets as far as the lucasarts logo screen when loading up and it takes me back to the desktop everytime:beigeconf does anyone know what this problem is and what do i do to fix it thnxs.

BTW have you installed the game onto your C dive, or on a different drive?

i downloaded it onto the c drive, the problem with patches they take too long to download on dial-up

Its pretty good, can do torrents and everything, monitors your clipboard and can search for alternate mirrors so u pretty much max out ur connection, diallup or not ;)


Of course u can pause and resume downloads as well.

have you been playing with your codecs?

often when a game loads up to the logo then crashes..

its becous Windows media player is no longer default player.
or codecs are wrong.

"crashes becous it cant display the opening video"

it gets past the opening screens, but as soon as it go to the loading screen and the star wars music starts playing it goes back to the desktop when loading

When the game returns to the desktop is there any error message?

Also chek in the game folder if there is some log file there open with a text editor an chek if there some error message written could help you to diagnose the problem
