I recently booted to the stupid Vista partition after some days of not using it n it and after some hours of using it vista put some warning that I don't have enough memory or something like that and says I need to close o re estart some applications

I do it but then put the stupid message again and I don't to much crap loaded that is for strange and vista never alerted me of that before

I'm not sure what could be the problem but I smell some virus crap on it. It reminds some old virus on the windows 98 days that used to put a lack of memroy message opening word documents but I'm not sure

I could put the av but the thing take long time scanning and if wanna put a game or something the computer could just freeze I m gonna do it but later

What do you thing could be the cause of this?

Thanks

It sounds like Vista is running out of Virtual memory.

How much RAM do you have in your PC?

I don't think its a virus or similar, otherwise you would notice as soon as you login and presumably your AV would have detected it.

I think its entirely Vista's awful memory management at fault, and there are limited things you can do about it..

Get the exact error next time, do your scans afterwards, check for dodgey looking processes and also if possible post a screen dump of the error.

I too think its viral as you probably have a decent spec machine Acal, unless a RAM module has went recently

Or as Random suggsted Vista's crappy memory management but I can't comment there as I use XP and wont go to Vistacrap for a bit yet :) (mainly cause I want to upgrade the HDD's, RAM and CPU on my laptop beforehand)

I scanned some hours ago and AVG didn't found nothing

It seems the message didn't appears again but I'll inform if do it again

And i have 640 MB of ram in this system and my page file was in 1 gb but suddenly reduced to 380 Mb I don't why I have't moved the page file options

and my hd space is in like 4.75 GB freee on this partition so should be complaining the damned page file of lack of space if that was the problem

I dont know Vista too well but have you tried error checking the drive?

Its in XP, right click over the drive, go to roperties and its under tools, as said unsure if Vista has it.

Anyway could it be the page file is corrupted?

Try pagedefrag (again assuming it supports Vista)

Any other malware scanners installed?

SuperAntiSpyware I recently installed and found a few things with it so I guess its not so bad of a program.

Do you notice any strange looking programs running in the Task Manager?

640MB isn't a suitable amount of RAM to run Vista on, not even 1GB is, I wouldn't run Vista on anything less than 2GB.

The Vista requirements are a load of bull, the RAM requirements are at least twice what it says it is.

If you want to free up more memory, disable the Aero effects.

I don't have them enabled. My card doesn't support them

i think that system mechanic has a option where u can recover ram.
