Need help with Thief Deadly shadows Default file

I recently finished playing Thief Deadly Shadows and may I just say first, its got some amazing graphics and effects which made up for the lack of gritty thief play seen in the previous games.

My aim now whilst playing it a second time is to collect all the loot I never quite got the first time but I want to make it a little easier for myself so I've changed the difficulty settings in the default file to 0.0 throughout.

However my problem is, as soon as I get to the next level or save the game half way through a level the changes I made don't stay and I'm quickly killed or seen. I checked the default file and my changes remain but they don't seem to have any effect on the game play after i start a new level or save.

What is it I have to do to get it to save my changes as the trainers I've tried to down load just don't work and make the game crash?

I thought myself as being compitant at editing the game files but I can't seem to work this problem out, hence why I'm despratly asking for help now.

If you are able to help can you please give me an idiot proof guide of how to help me as I'm feeling as if I'm lacking in brain cells today lol

No didn't work :-( thought it may not anyway as the default file doesn't actually change but the game doesn't seem to read the figures I put into it.

Now what?

Maybe there is something in the default file that forces changes whilst the game is running. Such as a line of text that you could set to zero and stop said changes...I have a vague recolllection of doing something like this and it working. If not you could try finding a trainer ;)

The trainers I've found don't work. I can't find a line in te default file to get it to work.

Hmmm this is most confusing as I hav had the same problems in the past....I can't be of any more use sorry....please pm me if you do solve this tho

Try using another crack by other developer if you are using cracked exe.
