Um if you are on the internet man you NEED an antivirus, there is no question on that...Its just stupid not to as with a windows machine its been proven to catch a virus within 20 minutes of being connected to the internet without a Firewall and Anti-virus
You could use another suite like AVG or something if you decided to swap.

But, I wouldn't suggest doing it that way. Uninstall Zonealarm, it's a pain, use Window's built in firewall. And for antivirus software, either pick up a copy of Norton Antivirus, or for a free software go with AVG

I would suggest you use Kaspersky for your AV. Never go with Norton/Symantec. Its a memory hugger. Deffo get rid of Zonealarm, its full of junk and spyware.

ZA full of junk and spyware? I used for a long time and never detected spyware bundled on it For the contrary used to blok the spyware junk from the internet very well I stopped using it coz since i upgraded to vista is no longer compatible and the vista upgrade is still in Beta. Did a better job that this Piece of crap of Bitdefender I'm using now (man I hate this firewall gonna get rid of it soon)
And for the windows firewall I would not suggest to any savvy userwill stay really stay protected only with it for the contrary is pretty rustic and lack of security functions . have cheked the reviews? scores pretty bad in outbound protection ( I mean the win vista one the xp one doesn't have it)

I've never propperly used ZoneAlarm but from what i've seen of it, I do have a dislike for it.
Sygate was always the best (free) firewall available, until Symantec destroyed it.

Zone Alarm is a good firewall and its a big joke if you say its full of spywares.
Also Norton is still best for me. I am still using Norton 2005 systemworks which I find best of all Norton.......though recent versions are irritating but still Norton is one of the best.
It just became a habbit to say against the popular.:redrazz:

Norton does well against malware (though, it's one of the biggest name companies, so if you're going to release a virus, you're gonna test it against Norton to make sure it'll go undetected lol). My only real complaint with Norton is that it can cause errors with other programs. Whenever someone tells me they're having problems and they have the Norton suite installed, the first thing I suggest is that they turn it off and try again (it works somewhat often).
