can not download anything!!

i am trying to download a few progs of download.com but i am met with a 'Quicktime' screen & nothing happens. (it's not a prob with download.com as i am having same probs of other sites) i deleted the quicktime prog from my PC BUT now when I try to download I am met with an error that says 'error locating object handler' then says 'poosible location>microsoft activex gallery'

Someone has told me that maybe something is wrong with in windows explorer>tools>folder options>file types BUT i don't know what i am looking for.

Any ideas anyone??

try re-install quicktime, and when you try and view these you have to be a little patient as it can take a few minutes to start loading/working, depending on your internet connection.

the progs do not download with quicktime -thats the trouble. I have tried downloading on my works PC and it asks where i want the file saved to - when i try at home it just brings up the quicktime screen & does not ask where i want it saved.

the set up to download must be set up wrong BUT i don't know how to fix??

try doing this m8 .

when you try and download a file etc, right click on the file and choose *save target as* this by default will save it to your desktop.

p.s. you say you deleted quicktime, do you mean you uninstalled it, as not doing it this way will still leave certain quicktime files on your computer, if this is the case reinstall quicktime restart your computer and then use the *add-remove* feature to uninstall.

what files does this happen with ?

it could help to repair IE, using add/remove feature.
