Never heard of anyone but I`m sure it exist, BUT you should NOT use any kind of emulator, it got a big chance of chrashing your pc. And it is ilegal to download n64 on a pc because it is a nintendo game and not a computer based game.

Of course there is, there are loads floating around, I used to use Project 64 (http://www.pj64-emu.com/downloads/Download/Project64/Binaries/) a while ago, I would give that a go first. :)

Its not illegal Magnusgutten as long as you own the N64 games you want to play on, and the performance was fine last time I played on it, I was getting a constant 60fps. :p

Dolphin was an early N64 emulator that showed promise, but was abandoned later on, and became a GC emulator.

http://www.ngemu.com/

Go there and download the best plugins for project 64

I would guess thats your problem, graphics plugins and so on not configured correctly.

In addition to that, make sure you've downloaded the latest version (1.6 or the 1.7 beta) and the 1.6 RDB update: http://www.pj64-emu.com/

Edit:
Make sure your roms have the .v64 or .rom file extension. ;)
