That would be yes.
I'll get an elite and the HD-360 when they both hit the shelves respectfully.
I'll definitely get one of the new 120G Hdd's for my older 360.
This does irritate me insofar as I don't believe that there will be
black HD-DVD players to match the new console color.
It's always something isn't it?
The X360 overall has been an excellent machine;
MS has given all the support they said they would.
The library is quite ample and growing.
AT LEAST when I play Ninja Gaiden on the 360
the 360 doesn't jank up the graphics.
The PS3 experience of playing PS2 games is a pitiful joke.
So the PS3 doesn't exactly allow full play of the PS2 library.
You can technically play them sure; but the graphics will be anything
but consistant--worse no duoshok, no feel.
Though I'll give it that Motorstorm is fun; but it's not worth 600+ fuggin dollars.
No Resistance isn't either--but it is bad azz and a good demonstrator
of the PS3's abilities: something the PS2 lacked in it's launch line up.
Has Sony even given their controllers a recharge cord longer than 4 feet yet?
The lack of force feed-back has left it a strangely empty experience.

Most Ironic?
The sonyphlies are trumpeting the technical prowess of the PS3;
and overlooking the small library on the premise of better things yet to come.
The circle is now complete.

You could probably sell your old one and buy 2 elite's at that point ... $180 for the 120GB drive seems a bit steep, and you could probably get $200-250 for the old one, meaning you'd only spend about $40 to get a brand new one ;)
I can't buy one now (haven't played the Wii or PS/3 enough to justify buying a new system), but I will end up buying one after it comes down in price (or when I find out they're discontinuing) :p

No way, they get networked for XBXLV fests.
The present premium edition will eventually be discontinued
to be replaced by the Elite; at which point I believe the Elite
will revert back to the grayishwhite console color.
But no black HD-DVD players; bastids.

He keeps them, even if they become old. He still has an atari laying around and what not. Probably every console that ever exsisted.

The 120GB HDD is going to be bought as soon as it's released. I'll get an Elite, but not straight away. Like Jag though, I'll keep my old console, Mainly because I think the white one looks better than the black one :p
I doubt they'll release a black HD-DVD addon (grrr.... :flackwhor) If they did though, I doubt I'd buy another one, just to match the Elite console. I say this now, but the day they release one, I'll buy one :redroll: :redbiggri

You're a fool if you do that - the XBOX360 has a ton of games, while the PS/3 doesn't really have much (I haven't even bought enough games to equal the price of the system - 6 games, while my XBOX360 collection is at 3X the cost - 22 games).

No doubt, you'd have to be a sap to do that.
And you would regret it, mark my words.
Look, we here largely have a decent degree of disposable income.
I didn't have to miss any payments to anyone to purchase my set ups.
The only reason I haven't got a PS3 yet is because I'm delaying my purchase
until either it takes a significant price cut; or enough worthy games come out
to justify it. PS3 ports of PS2 standard bearers will not do.
SOCOM4, GT5, TEKKEN: these better have a significant margin of WOW
over the PS2 fodder otherwise they're bunk.
Heck it's still not known how bad the free file sharing of
PS3 games and BR movies between linux enabled PS3's
will ultimately affect the game dev community.
If there is no way to keep a TuxPS3 from sharing it's game file(there isn't),
then the PS3 game development will ultimately just seize up.
The games on PS3's will boil down to serial games. Your hi capacity BR DVD
might have 7-8 gigs on it if that. The rest of the game would be accessed
from online downloads via scanning servers that would be looking
for identifiers to see just who's copy of what was being played where.
That, and the games would seriously start to suck.
This isn't what if stuff man, those things are being played out right now.
Also I can't help but think that the 6ax controller
is going to interfere with MotoGP if it is primarily
tilt steered--hope you can select Dpad over 6ax.
If you have the cash already lying around and don't have something
more critical to spend it on, then sure get one. Otherwise it's best to
let the production bugs get fully worked out. Besides, when MS releases
it's HD-DVDX360elite for $500 the long odds are that Sony will drop it's
price of the PS3 to the same. PS2's will not be sold for under $100 till
probably never. Sony will use the sales of the PS2 to slow the bleeding
of cash that the PS3 had created.
If you sell your 360; it won't be long before
you're spending more time on your PS2 than your PS3.
And you'll be out the equivalent of $600+ dollars.
