i have a magic 2 mod chip on a ver 5 board i think. i would like to know if its possible to put a new mod chip like the magic 3 thats can play dvd9 on it.

yeah I dont see why not, just unsolder the chip. make sure you get a de-solder wick or solder-sucker to get any excess solder off of the mobo. then just install the magic 3.
