REDMOND, Wash. (AP) - Microsoft Corp. (MSFT (http://money.excite.com/jsp/qt/short.jsp?symbol_search_text=MSFT)) is extending its warranty on the Xbox 360 (http://apnews.excite.com/article/20061222/D8M5VSEO1.html#) video game console to one year from the previous limit of 90 days. The change announced Friday applies to future and present owners.

Pretty good of MS to do this free of charge for their customers if you ask me. Looks like my warranty will expire in a couple weeks then :p

No. Before this recent piece of news, the warranty for an XBox 360 was 90 Days. It has now been changed to one year (from date of original purchase), for all XBox 360 owners.
