I've recently (yesterday) purchased a Samsung 19" HDTV (on behalf of my mum for my christmas present), and was wondering what you guys thought would give the best picture/FPS. Component (720p/1080i) or VGA (1440x900 or whatever widescreen res that the 360 can support around that).
At the moment, I'm using VGA at 1280x1024, and the picture is pretty damn nice. Since I got the premium console, I got a component cable anyway. Both sets of cables are official if it matters.

What model is it?
I have the Samsung SyncMaster 940MW Widescreen 19", I find DVI has the best picture for me.
TBH you should chose which ever looks the best, if you think they're both the same then I would chose the most conventient. ;)

1080i resolution is 1920x1080, so if your television can output that, I'd suggest trying to get set up with that ;)

I've gotten it running at 1080i. It's the same screen as you Random. Don't have a spare VGA-DVI converter dongle to hand. I found that the component connection solves the backwards compatiblity issues I was having with my VGA cable on my old screen. Not tried 720p yet. Might check it out later tonight.

I have a bunch of odd converters lying around (pretty much a "you name it, I've got it" situation lol) ... if you lived nearby, I'd let you borrow anything you needed
They're not too expensive, and converters are handy to have ;)

Thanks for the kind offer Dip. I'm in Cambridge at the moment, so it'll be a tad hard to get to you and borrow anything. LOL! It's alright though, I have a bunch of converters lying around, but at my parents house. I'll be back there in a couple days for Christmas, so I'll get what I need then ;)
