I'm not sure where to place this issue... either under hardware or software... but i hve a notebook.. ASUS AJ6... and u know in the front it has the mulimedia buttons where you can forward/start/stop/pause media tracks... they only work in windows media player and my dvd player... so is there any way to get them compactible with winamp???

Is Winamp the foreground process? I've had issues with programs in the background not responding to multimedia buttons (e.g., iTunes), but when they're in the foreground, they work 100% perfectly ;)

Maybe you didn't understand ... make sure Winamp is open and you're looking at your playlist/library and try the controls and see if that works ;)
EDIT1: I just tried to use the controls on my G15 keyboard with Winamp Pro 5.3.2 on Win XP x64 and it doesn't work :shrugs:
EDIT2: Try looking for plugins that will work ;)

Yeah they should, but TBH I hardley use my media buttons anyway.
I don't have time to look for plugins ATM, i'll look later. :)

You need to activate Global Hotkeys.
That'll do the trick, i promise.
No need to tweak anything or install plugins.

Global Hotkeys.
You have it in your menu. Just enable them.
Not global shortcuts or global plugins.

Enable that one, and you should be able to use your media keys
If that don't help, i'm outta ideas.

Man the times I am on windows I tend to prefer Winamp over Windows Mierda Player too, I think WMP has nice menus and interface but its for noobs. When you put a song or video tends to lag more. with certain videos like avi that are supposed to be already supported or others formats tends to search for codec that needs to be downloaded and the damn codec never downloads. Other funcions like incorporation of the msn features portal are pretty useless too only slowndowns the load of wmp when is starting. I used it I used to block WMP from access the internet with my firewall because i really hated that. The burning options of WMP are pretty lame too are so damn rustic most are only for wma microsoft format that stinks and don't have nothing decent for mp3. Other times wheb you try to put a dvd on wmp alot of movies don't show well if you use other like Win DVD or Power DVD its play lots better. I could agree if someone say that Winamp is not good for video In that I agree even when has some video options added I don't like for that but for music is excellent. There are other players for windows alot less know that do the job lots better than WMP and have all or most codecs already included and don't need to download toons of useless crap to play a video.Other examaples but some players in linux like Amarokk or Kaffeine does lots better the job than WMP too with less lag. Don't have the nice WMP interface and menus but are lots better efficient
