Hi Guys,

I recently moved overseas .... and wanted to bring as much stuff as possible with me ... but to cut down on space, i had a bright idea regarding storage of games etc.
An example .... i took Command & Conquer Generals and Zero Hour ( 4 discs in total ) and took all the files and copied them to one DVD, same info but with a quarter of the space.
Seemed like a good idea at the time.
Now, i've just used WinISO to try re-create the original cd's by burning the image to blank CDRW's.
I pop the first one in, and it works a treat .. it autoruns, i go through the various options, tick the boxes and away it goes, up until the point where it asks for disc 2, which was created successfully in the exact same manner, however, it just keeps asking me to insert disc 2 and never recognises its there.
The disc is fine, no scratches or anything, and through windows explorer i can browse its contents ... but it just wont pick up where disc one left off in terms of installation.

Any ideas on this one ??

Thanks in advance ....

The installation file is programmed to ask for the disk by name, and not the file it needs.

The only way you can get round this, is to burn each disk on its own.

As random said, you will need to make sure that the discs are burnt individually. However, I'm sure that somewhere there is a tutorial on how to install the game off one DVD... do a google search.

Also, if you moved overseas, what did you do with the original game discs?

Yeah have a look here (http://www.cd-2-dvd.com/), it should tell you how to make a fully working conversion. You gotta register though.

Hey Born 2 Phrag, ....

Rented out my apartment for the duration of the 3 year contract i have here.
there's a room back there, with shelves over flowing with all my games, dvd's and maybe 1000 or so cd's.
Got a lotta stuff here onto blue-ray discs thanks to my Sony laptop, so they're just gathering dust till i get home !

Want the address :P ??

I don't know how to solve your current problem, but in the future, instead of just copying all the files onto a blank DVD, I would make .iso files from the discs you have and write them to the DVD just like you did the files (not make an installation disc, but just have like 7 .iso files (they're about 700MB, blank DVDs are 4.7GB) on the disc. That way, you can mount the files in DT or you can write them to blank CDs and install ;)
