Hi does anyone knows if the save games from UT 2004 from the Windows version are compatible with the Linux port?. i guessing not since i can't see any .INI files in the folder but I'm not sure so that is why I'm asking

Nevermind I found them. They were on my home folder. Im not gonna have to re start from scratch. But the perfomance is so damn bad even when it's a port supposed to be more faster

I played UT2K4 on Linux and it ran fine, I didn't notice really any performance increase/decrease.

When I mean port more faster I mean that has native Linux version compared with emulated or simulated windows programs/games in cedega or wine that generally run more slow in Linux since it's emulation I really ain't comparing the Windows version ve the linux version in perfomance exactly. Anyways the Windows one has better graphics and effects for the Direct X mode that in Open gl from Linux since Epic did the render better. The contrary y from the previous UT/UT2003 that rendered better in Open gl. At least the Linux version don't look as bad in Open gl as did in windows selecting Open gl mode but I admit Direct #d has better graphics for the reasons I said. I have been playing a bit more UT and seems to be slow on certain maps that has a lots of bots in ithers But other maps don't seems to s so slow in my machine Maybe my videocard ins't good enough for the game. and I read somewhere that ATI cards are not so good in open gl as the nvidia one does.Maybe that my problem too?

Man i'm happy!!!! I found a way to run this game considerable speed perfomance. On the settings go to the input section and select the option "reduce mouse lag" then edit Ut2004.ini file near a value that says [Engine.GameEngine] There is an option called CacheSizeMegs=32 change this value to 256 I have this game since ages I have always sufferend considerable lags on it on both windows and Linux but this helped me alot on Linux maybe help Windows users too. i wish could found this before I could enyoyed the game better and the good thing is that wont loose graphic quality since this is not changed
