I'm trying to make a copy of my AoM so me and a friend of mine may play against eachother. the problem is that he goes to school 200 miles away, and we're both gonna be home this break. So I tried to copy it the same way I copied AoE:conquerors (with cloneCD), but it's not working. How can I make a WORKING copy?

AoM is protection by Safedisk version 2 I believe. Use ClonyXXL & CloneCD. OR, get your hands on the latest version of Alcohol120%. That should help. ;)

I have clonyxxl...I don't know german, but I think it's safedisc 2.5 i think AoE:C was safedisc 2. I tried cloneCD for copying, and i can't get it to make a working copy

Yes, but this is a NEWER version of SD2. Try Alcohol120%, if Clone isn't doing it for you. I've heard good things about it.

alcohol is definetely the best, but for me clone cd worked with aom. but i used scout not clony cause clony programmer stopped work on clony so it's a good chance that clony cant identify the right safedisc version.

I just tried alcohol, and burnt it, when i put the disc back in, it didn't recognize it as the right disc. can you tell me step by step what you did and what options you chose in alcohol? and whats this other program you spoke of that's better than clony?

found a new version of clony, programmer resumed work -> http://wald.heim.at/redwood/511359/clony.htm
i never used alcohol, some friends swear on it and tests i found on sites say the same
probably better or as good as alcohol is gamejack 2.0
scout is available on www.entf.de

I just bought AoM. (I don't like these types of games, but I've been asked sooo many times for this game, I had to break down & get it) I'll let you know my results after I burn a copy of it.

then blakkpauls problem seems to be his cd-rw. new clony contains a list of safedisc 2.51+ capable writer.

I tried that new version of clony, but I can't read german, and I can't find that compatability list otherwise. I have a TDK VeloCD 16x10x40 IDE internal. Can you see if it's on the list?

and, just a small suggestion, if all other attempts don't work, download SafeDisc 2 Cleaner from www.gamecopyworld.com
By the way, what is that Alcohol thing??? Never heard of it.

download newest version of clonecd. taken from elby homepage
-->
- With weak sector emulation and Digital Signature emulation you don't need to care about the capabilities of your reader or writer!
- Copy protections with weak sectors can be copied with any writer!
- Copy protections using subchannel data can be copied with any reader! There is no need for reading subchannel data anymore!<--
now you should be able to burn it :)

OK....not to sound like a jerk, but please read up in the thread. One more time....someone said that *CLONYXXL* has a list of safedisc 2.5 compatible burners. I can't read german. I wanted to know if any germans here, or someone who CAN read german could look at the compatibility list on *CLONYXXL* to see if my burner *TDK VELOCD 16/10/40* is on the list. This is *NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT* an issue with *cloneCD.* I originally tried it with the newest version of clonecd.
