Hello I just built a new PC and when I hooked it up to my router, it always says limited or no connectivity and when I hit repair it gets stuck at aquiring network address and none of my laptops can connect but when I plug this PC that works everything works fine and even with my laptops I don't think it's my router. I have a linksys router.

It is wired and I am running a realtek nic card, with a Nforce Mobo.

Athlon 64 running at 2.25 ghz.

Most routers have Dynamic IP Addressing, but yours is acting as if it doesn't. (Maybe you have to enable it manually?)

The PC thats works probably has its IP Addressing configured statically, the best way to get it working on the other PC would be to copy the settings from that PC and enter them manually on the others.

On the PC that works, Click Start > Run and type "cmd" (no quotation marks).

In the black box that should have appeared, type "ipconfig /all" and hit enter.

All the network settings will be shown, my screenshot shows the settings needed to be copied.

Obviously your settings should be different from mine.

Those settings should be entered in the Network Connections Properties under "Internet Protocol TC/IP", the IP Address should be different on all the PCs/Laptops, for example my PCs IP Address is currently 192.168.0.2, so the next PC on my network should be 192.168.0.3 etc.

If you need any more help, just ask. :)

http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Network-Tweak/WinSockFix.shtml

Try downloading WinSockFix

Run the software

It will solve many of your issues (it restores many defaults that could solve your problem without having to do it manually) ... I've had it on my USB key for about 3 years now
