Okay, I'm looking on the internet and I'm now CONFUSED about how it really works.
When I want to play a copied game on my Gamecube, HOW DOES IT WORK? How do I burn those games?
I hear al sorts of ways, but what is THE way to get this thing working? something about hooking it up to my computeR? Is that fast enough?

There is no easy way to copy GameCube games it costs money and time.
If your serious about doing this then, try searching the forum, theres a very good guide here somewhere explaining how to do it.

You can not copy a gamecube game
They are read from the outside inwards unlike any other console or PC disc drive.

The way i think you are referring to Zafiras involves two memory cards and Phantasy Star Online?
is that even legal?

The only way I know of is, to buy the Broadband adapter and MOD chip for the GC, then ftp the GC to your PC directly, using the appropriate software, you would copy the game using the GC's own disc drive as an image to your HD.
Then burn the copied image onto a Mini-DVD, then there's the complicated bit with patching files and all that crap, and eventually it should work.
I've heard the ftp process alone can take well over 6 hours.
They are read from the outside inwards unlike any other console or PC disc drive.
The Dreamcast also read discs from the outside in, and you can get PC Drives that do that very thing. :)

ive heard of both setups more so Random's but never really looked into either... unfortunately all too complicated
also never read into the legalities of backing up GC via fdjc4's way... not up to speed on GC anymore sorry to say

Me neither..... I'm sure it's legal to back your own games up. Although with all the hassle involved, is it really worth it at this point? I get GCN games for like £10 each. It's hardly worth stressing over if one of the games gets lost or scratched in my opinion. And for the most part, the games I own are even cheaper than £10 since they're the older ones like Metroid, RE etc.

Isn't there a modified firmware revision available for some drives which can read GC discs? I remember someone mentioning them somewhere...
