It would help a lot if you gave us your pc's specs..
Do you have the latest drivers for your hardware? The latest direct x? and so on and so forth...

His CPU and RAM ar fine, (I had the full game with a 2200 and a Gig of RAM) unsure about the graphics card, it may need a card that supports pixel shader 2.0 and im not sure if a 9200 supports that.

Troubleshooting
===============
If GTR 2 fails to start, try changing the "Shader Level" setting in GTR2Config.
Some graphics cards report incorrect information for the level they can support, and so the default "Auto" option can cause problems; this is especially common in integrated graphics chipsets such as those found in notebooks. If you experience very bad performance on the lowest settings, try setting the Shader Level on DirectX 8 or lower. Some older DirectX9 cards do not fully support GTR2's advanced shaders.
If you are still having problems, try updating your graphics card, sound card and motherboard drivers from the relevant web sites, for example:
ATI Technologies
http://www.ati.com/
Creative Labs
http://www.creative.com/
Matrox
http://www.matrox.com/
NVIDIA
http://www.nvidia.com/
VIA
http://www.viaarena.com/
After changing/updating your video card drivers, or changing your monitor, you must run GTR2Config again. Please also note that alt-tab operation in full screen mode can be unreliable using certain graphics card and/or driver combinations.
Maximizing Game Performance
===========================
Here are some suggestions to maximize your racing experience with the computer you are using:
Adjust in-game settings.
01. Reduce the number of AI opponents.
02. Lower the "opponent detail" setting on the graphics menu.
03. Turn off "High Detail Wheels" on the advanced menu.
04. Turn off "High Res Car Livery" on the advanced menu.
05. Set "Shadow Quality" to medium on the graphics menu.
06. Turn off the "trackside characters" option on the graphics menu.
07. Beware using 60X daylight acceleration with large grids of cars. Night racing is very machine intensive.
08. Turn down the "Shadows" option on the graphics menu.
09. To improve night racing performance, turn down the "Headlight Detail" option on the graphics menu.
Adjust settings on your PC.
01. Turn off anisotropic filtering and/or full screen anti-aliasing in your
Windows Graphics control panel.
02. Turn off full screen anti-aliasing in GTR2Config.
03. Lower the resolution set in GTR2Config.
04. Lower the shader level set in GTR2Config.
Try those......

Put the shader level to DX 7 and all options to low but it still crashes. :(
