View Full Version : Half Life 2 stuck

Hey,
I was running HL2 with the HL2_GCF_steamless-install_daGame thing. It all worked fine until Black Mesa, when I enter the elevator with eli.
While loading the next screen I get a message "You are f****d" and after that a debug window.
Tried searching for a solution yet the only one I could find was to use the console in order to skip that level.
Is there any way of playing that level?

How about you try to play the game using Steam. The first step to troubleshooting is to eliminate any source of the error, and that's like a no-cd fix, in that it could be the cause. So, run it with Steam and report back if the error still occurs.

There are already numerous thread about using HL2 without Steam. Like this (http://forums.megagames.com/forums/showthread.php?t=35014) one. Next time use the search feature of the forum before making a new thread. Oh yeah and welcome to the forum mate.

Lol! When I tried to hack the GCF files when HL2 was on pre-load, I got that exsact same message, its a joke put in by the developers as they knew about that loop hole. I tried to fis it, but I eventually gave in and purchased it and I didn't regret it! ;)

I don't really see any problem with using Steam. Correct me if I'm wrong but, I don't think there are any issues (security or stability) with using Steam. At least there aren't for me.

Never had that error remiinds the old Doom for DOS that had a message on the exit that said that "if you are using a pirated version of doom you will be on the hell" thing

well dont download games i know you downloaded it coz by brother got the same problem with a downloaded version of HL2 just buy it i did in the end
