lately i have been getting random resets so i turned it to display the blue screen if i get a prob and i have had 2 in the last week
the first was irql_not_less_or_equal
stop: 0x0000000a (etc)
and the otehr 1 i didnt really pay much attention 2 but it was a
stop: 0x00000007 ( i think)
how do i find out what caused it?
i reinstalled XP and formatted not long back and it was all fine then just got them after a month or so.
and havent changed hardware so it cant really be any hardware conflicts can it?

LOL!!!!!
google saves my life so man times...heres an interesting linky for your first error:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314063/
is that pretty much the error you get?
And for what you think is the second one i found this:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/w2kmsgs/1123.asp
Says its hardware related but you havent upgraded it, maybe a driver is faulty or someting like that?
that link applies to win 2000 i see but it may help you, dunno.
One more thing BRO DUDE have you tried any malware scans in safe mode?
I read elsewhere it could be a malware problem even.
There are many possibilites, if it happes again will you look out for the error title and post that, who knows you may actually be able to print screen it i dont know, just a suggestion.

I love to hate blue-screens of death, those links fdjc4 gave you are about the best advice/guidence your gonna find.
From experience those errors were a result of faulty hardware, what I did to find out what it was, was remove all my extra prehiperals, untill it eventually stopped.

BRO DUDE - you did a great job in writing down the error numbers you got. Google (or even the MS site) will be your best friend in just searching based on that error code.

Have you been overclocking your rig at all?
First off I would run Memtest on your memory to make sure its still working ok. But it could just be a simple conflict with a new VGA driver etc.. you have installed lateley. The worst thing about the BSOD it could be 1 of a 1000 things that could be causing the fault :o

It is most likely a hardware or driver error. Have your drivers changed since you reformatted? In my experience if the BSOD doesn't go away after a clean install of Windows, then it is a hardware fault.

no it only started happeneing after i reformatted so i was sorta guessing it was a driver conflict or something along those lines
i ended up disabling both my dvd drives and my tvtuner card and disconected everything but th basics and it had been running for 2 days without a bsod so ill slowly start setting everything up again and c whats starting it
also when i first got the computer and even up until i reformatted and clean install it was running suprisingly fast for a p4 1.6 but now it seems slow and sluggish what can cause that... i know its left wide open but any suggestions

I would suggest that its the TVTuner card, it proberbly have a conflict with your VGA card or its drivers. From what you have just posted :)

i was thinking that but im guessing its not as i re enabled my dvd drives and plugged in my printer and then i got another 2 not long after so i dont know if it was coincidence or not
ok i looked up on microsoft and i think the printer driver is causing 1 but there are a few more im trying to sort out

BRO DUDE

Could be a virus then, since your AV is getting disabled and not re-enabled.

format would probably be the best option at this moment in time
Scanning for malware may come up with sometihng, i don't know for sure.

Did you remeber on what test it failed on?? Its usually test 5 [block move, 64 moves]
Are you overclocking your system? but reset it to its factory defaults in the BIOS anyway and then start memtest again :)

Ive a few noob questions here.
How long would it take to perform a memtest?
Off topic but im also curious (and really bored this week) how my pc would do on a 3Dmark test as well, how long does it take approx?
AMD2200XP @ 1890Mhz (5% overclocked)
1 GB RAM (2 x 512)
ATI AIW 9800 PRO 128 MB
Aivoton

3dMark usually takes 5-10 minutes.. depending on your specs though.. i cant say the exact time for your system though...

i dont know what u mean by what test it was running through it just starts and then gets an error saying word pair#3632436 values 3986994016, 3984896864 do not match
there all the same just different numbers and it stops when it gets an error so i cant leave it running at night

Dude. let me check my last results in memtest to see about the values and if mine are matched up, as my memory is the same of each stick :)

Some malware camouflage themselves as ipnat.sys, particularly if they are located in c:\windows or c:\windows\system32 folder.
ipnat.sys is located in the folder C:\Windows\System32\drivers.
The driver can be started or stopped from Services in the Control Panel or by other programs. It is a Windows core system file.
Try a new one but disable that one first.

I am pleased that your BSOD is now gone, but it still looks like you have some corruption from Windows, does the error reporting bring back any details???

A format would probably clear all your problems dude.
If you do decide to go down that route then backup all your data such as music, work files and even game saves.
It seems your windows is very problematic recently, something could be causing corruption.

after i done my format and clean install ive had problems so id rather not do it again since ive stopped getting bsod
how do i get the error reporting?
its more things are slow like loading the start bar i click it and wait 2 seconds then it appears and then the next file tree takes 2 seconds instead of instantly
