help with warcraft 3

im not to shure how this works i cant get a backup done of wc3 is this the right place to get help i use clone cd but it wont open up my game but when you look at the cd it has all the files on it whats wrong?

You wont be able to play the game using a backup of the original. You'll either have to use the original disc, or use a crack.

A crack is a fixed .exe file that tells the game not to look for the cd ...

find the appropriate version u have (tells u in the bottom corner of the main menu) and download it (only get one that says no-cd/fixed exe)

use winrar or other rar program to extract the files. Open ur warcraft3 directory, not sure what it is by default, and copy all the extracted files into that folder, and replacing all the ones already there.

If you get the mini-image, you won't have to keep searching for a new crack every time an update happens ... just something to think about ;)

true, but remember, he doesnt appear to know how to use a no-cd crack, so the process of getting daemon, or alcohol and mounting disc images, etc...kinda like running off C++ code to a programming noob ;)

Download image and decompress it to an easy-access location
Download the program (google search will find it)
Right-click the lightning icon > Emulation > "all options ON"
Left click and select "Device 0" and search for the image and click "Open"

Voila! 4 easy steps and it'll provide a lifetime (unless the copy protection ever gets updated) of play without putting in your disc :nod:

Fixed .exe:

Extract the files to the desktop
Right-click your shortcut and select "Properties" and then "Find Target..."
Create a folder called "backup" and copy any file that'll get replaced (anything with the same name as extracted files)
Cut/paste the extracted files into that folder
You're set



Mini-image:
Download Daemon Tools (google it)
Extract the files onto your desktop
Run that program (it'll be a lightning icon in your system tray)
Right-click and go to "Emulation" > "all options ON"
Left-click it and then go to Device 0 and browse for the files you extracted
When you find it, hit "Open"
You're set

Any file that has the same name as the files you extracted. Create a folder called "backup" or something. This step is to prevent having to reinstall in case the crack doesn't work properly. Personally, I have a folder on my desktop that I named "Game Files" and it's filled with all my backed up files. It's easiest for me to put everything in one folder, but for you, it may be different.

Dude, just extract the files from the 'Cracked' .rar you downloaded and copy them into your game directory (somethng like- C:\Program Files\Blizzard\Warcraft 3).

If you get a message that the file already exists when you try to put it in there, go ahead an overwrite what is there.

Done.

If you want to keep the files that you are overwriting for future use, back them up first or rename them.

When you save it, save the file to your desktop. Then, when you extract it, do the same. Then, follow the instructions I gave you earlier, bud ...
