I don't know if this is posible I just want some opinion. Is there a way to ban a phone number to calling my house?
The reason is this my brother in law have some problem with a cellular company because he cancelled a line and they want to charge some money when he made contract a few years back he gave my mothers name and phone as reference. classic when yo make a contract he actually don't live here but the cell phome company call a lot here asking for him, the person who actually calls is always the same is very uneducated and try people very bad tryig to use harassment tactics even we are not we who the responsibles to pay the money Like I previously expilcated is my brother in law not live with us and the b it ch that usually call is I or my brother hang up the phone she dial several times to continnue harasment that why I wanna know if there a way to avoid the phone to call to my line. No matter who many ttimes the b i t ch call I never gonna give my brother in law the message not mather how much she try since is not our problem amd I'm not interest in intrude in the problems from others. + my mother have blood pressure and she worry alot when that person calls and I don't want her to be worried for things that don't belong to her giving problems to her health so is there any way I could block the damn number?

try people very bad tryig to use harassment tactics
Your telephone provider should be able to block a number. Also, if the harassment is really bad, your best bet is to call the authorities, so that if he calls again, legal action can be taken against him. Though, if your brother really does owe the money, he should pay it. Technically, they can take legal action against him for that as well ...

Yeah i wish I could call an authorithy but it wont serve for nothing the police in mexico its useless. Here is not like in the U.S that iyou can sue Walmart if you stumble with a baize in main entrance. Here the legal system is different That why lame monopolic companies like this one can do evrything they want and don't care about their clients. And you know is my brother in law he is now married with my sister they are now another family and don't looks good if we intrude on the problems of a marriage it's 'their life . They already have his number they should call him not us yes I'm gonna check that you suggested me with the phone company to see if they can block the number

Hell, in the US, I can break into your house to steal all of your belongings, slip on your wet floor and sue you ... don't get me started on stupid laws here lol
You shouldn't impose on your sister's marriage, but in the same regard, his actions shouldn't impose on your life. There shouldn't be crediters calling and harassing you, either. I was raised to live your life and make your own decisions, accepting any consequences that come your way. No one really told me what I could and couldn't do, until it affected someone else ...

plain and simple... keep a diary of all their calls and requests... give them the same answer every time and politely ask them to stop calling as the situations dont and wont change.
Then you need to get onto your phone company and tell them times and dates, and that you have not responsibility to this contract in concern and that you want it to stop.
this works in Australia - unfortunately the only other people that can help are your fellow countryman

Get your number changed, when I was getting constant prank calls (i'm taling 24/7 here), I rang up BT and told them what was happening, as they couldn't track the prank callers number(s).
They suggested I get my number changed (I think it was free), it was all done after two days! :)

 Random, Great idea, acal3000, Do You have caller i.d. ? I know that here we can punch in a certain # to have just that # blocked, so Your phone will automatically refuse the call. Usaually that info is in the front of Your telephone book that the phone co. puts out.

attention is the best weapon in your arsenal....just ignore them and your problem will go away....
I suppose on what kind of phone options the phone company has.. i can ban witheld numbers and ban numbers on my landline and my mobile.
Call the Phone company up, they should be able to block or ban the number for a small charge.

or you could just peeve them off so much that they never call again (try to sell them something, or take the number and keep calling them on pay phones, and make sure to spread the number)

The best thing to do would be to let your brother in law face his own responsibilities.
If he has reneged on a contract with a mobile phone company then he must pay up what he owes and the company will not go away.
Just give them them your brother in laws contact details and let him behave like a man!

Try reading the original post again. I know the English ain't great but it is clear that the phone company are under the impression that the bro-in-law lives there!
Give him up and let him pay his dues!

ahh they bug others :)
i get phone calls here . usual crap :) . my parents got there number changed ( lot of crap happenin , pranks ect ) and also have a little block on the line ( if some 1 calls from a withheld number then they get blocked off til they show that number , great :D ) . but the guys at the phone company changed the number the the old number of a driving instructor . got quite a few calls from them . usual told them he doesnt have this number and i dont know the new 1 ect .
now tho . we get calls from guys we dont know ! , hell i get a few from a "network that can not transmit numbers " , a asian guys keeps phonin ( u can tell by the accent , and he knows little english ) wantin to sell u stuff . tell him to f**k off every time :D .
best advise . call on reverse charge to them :D , doesnt cost u , bugs the hell outta them . and if they wanna know some info they have to pay for it ( if they do take it just say u know where he is and then say its somewhere . leave the phone on the table , watch the cup , come back and say u cant find it once the games over , costs them a bunch and they are no closer to findin him ;) . perfect and legal ! .
or a easyer way . get a new number but before u do . make 1 last call and tell em to shove the bill up there hairy a*s* ! . perfect ! . revenge can come in a thousand blows ;) .
have fun with these guys  , thats what i do :D .

Nah man they already know don't live with us since thje beginning. They have our number because like I previously said they have like.( do do you say english?) referefence?, you know sometimes when some companies makes a contract or at least here they ask for the one that is gonna do the contract data (of course) and someties ask fr other numbers of know people of him to ask their financial status, or things like that that can be 2 or 3 numbers sometimes. and that what a nnoys if we don't owe the money why do that retarded woman have to call here in that unpolite manner. and yes last time that b i t ch called I insulted her People that don't treat well the others don't have the right to be treat politely. I remebered her name and and complained in the customer care. But I don't know is this going to serve for something.

References are common here in the US, especially if you don't have [good] credit. As said, I would first explain POLITELY that your brother-in-law doesn't live with you, give them his contact information and ask to be taken off their list. If that doesn't work, call up the phone company and ask them to block the number. If that isn't possible, get your number changed (don't do this until you've exhausted all other options, as it's a pain in the ass to get your number out to everyone who'd call you), and if there's a charge, make your brother-in-law pay for it, as it's his fault you needed to do so.
