I have Internet Explorr 6, up to date etc and so forth, and all my drivers too.

However when i go and play a song in ANY media player, windows or real its fine but once i click on a link in IE the song briefly repeats whatever section its at for about half a second this happens. like drrrr-drrrr-drrrr then contintes fin, ideally i should record this for you but i cant be arsed right now cause its late :)

Im just wondering has anyone else experienced tihs annoying lil problem?

ive an AC'97 soundcard and this has never happened before just in the last few weeks its gotten to happen every time i click on a link.

Please dont suggest anything upding driver wise as im at that at the mo....same with update windows cause im always up to date etc...

No hardware changes to the computer apart from installing the remote wonder for my ATI but i doubt thats responisible. I ight format the comp just to get something to do voer the long and boring summer if i dont et a job soon >.<

I think its most likely a lack of RAM or a slow processor, but if that were the case, then it wouldnt just happen in IE. Have you tried clearing your temp files? A format might not be a bad idea, unless someone else has a better idea...

ive a gig of ram
AMD 2200XP processor
I clear temp files on a daiily basis nearly
and never had this problem before, i bet it was some stupid MS security update that messed it all around >_>

Not considering format as an option yet tho...

Is this streaming audio? If so, is it your internet connection being a pain?

no its not streaming audio

mp3's or wma's i have on the HDD, any song does it with any player.

It happens on most sites, not mgf though iv noticed.

might be a need a new power supply or something i havent a clue.

Indeed is right and leaving apart that on win98 in add/remove programs IE used to have a option to repair the install I don't know if in XP is still there maybe works for your problem

You can do a repair install with your WinXP disc and you can also do it by entering a few commands (they don't come to mind right now, but try doing a little bit of research and you should find them) ...
