If you don't have the original, it's illegal to use a no-cd fix. You agree to those terms when you enter GCW or GBW ...

the main reason i want the crack for that prticular version is cuz it fixes the problem eith the geforce fx series...and i have the fx5500...anyway ppl can do this for the time being till the other crack is out...install the game, patch it without using the crack... then replace original exe with crack...it works but the patch places a new exe...the info from that exe wont be there...but it works!

I have an old TI 4800 and an FX6600 Extreme edition from Leadtek. And this summer I will buy the FX7950. But Hitman goes on medium detail at 1024x768 on my old ti 4800 pretty much more than okay. I do have some problems on very high detail on the FX6600. But only if I set all to max. And that with version 1.0. You won't get more than medium detail on an FX5500 as is a lousy videocard. Just a wee bit better than an FX5200. You won't get better performance even if you shoot the damn card to pieces.
P.S.: I do have two PCs in the house, one being owned by my bro.

The FX series of cards is ONLY the Geforce 5 cards.
There is no FX7950...nor is there an FX 6600.
HMBM runs perfectly well on a Geforce FX5200 if it's set to run in Shader Model 1.0 with the new patch.

You are right.My bad.Kinda of stuck there. The 6 and 7 series don't have anything in front of the numbers, like 3, 4 and 5 series did.And you are right again about the pixel shader.Like I said: on my old ti4800 goes just fine and on my nvidia 6600(leadtek as a brand, GT Extreme Edition as a model)

That's because you're using the old v1.1 crack...
It doesn't work with the 1.2 patch.

I bought a version of hitman blood money, and during installation an error keeps coming up saying something about how it cant access a .zip file on the cd. i hit retry and it works.
this happens about 5 times and the 5th time no matter how many times i retry, it doesnt work. :rant: :beigeconf

Have you got programs running in the background when your installing?if so stop them while you do the install....usually if an original doesnt install properly taking it back for another or refund is a good option.....

Maybe your disc is scratched...Another way you could try to get it running is make and image, Mount it on a virtual drive and then try installing...Then use the Disc to play!

Might try what I did for titan quest, same protection as hitman. Make an image with the RPMS data. Burn it on a cheap 30c dvd+r. I have a stack of nexxtech ones, 50 for 8 bucks, not any special media code or anything like those crazy starforce kids are usin. Now disable ALL your daemon tools emulated drives. Turn on JUST RPMS in daemon tools. Stick your RPMS DVD copy in and play. I wouldn't think it would work with TQ and not Hitman since they both use SR7.2 or whatever the newest one is, but I haven't gotten around to trying it yet. You might have to reboot with daemon tools virtual drives set on disabled to get them to toggle properly. It didn't work until I did so for TQ. I'll give it a go with hitman tomorrow, less urgency since I finished it so quickly. TQ is LONG, might be luggin it around with my laptop for awhile, higher odds it would be snapped like a twig. I highly recommend it to you Diablo 2 addicts.

u mean when u toss anything it used to crash?i dont know about that but it works fine now...it has not crashed even once...I have tossed many items in the game...including the shotgun, pistols etc...no problems there!

Well, it used to say emulation software detected. Then I mounted the .mds that I downloaded from the person who wrote the guide and it worked for a while. I saw the NVIDIA commercial, then a crow landing on a tree, screen went black and then I was looking at my desktop.

After some googling I found out that it was because my video card does not support pixel shader 2.0 Oh well.

pixel shader 1.0 can be selected if u use the configure.exe that comes with the new v1.2 patch...in the root folder of your indtall directory...choose a low resolution and play!

800x600 is the best, if your PC is not high end, like my one is.
Use AAx4, so it looks like 1024x768+

Postprocessing or sth like this... I turned it off, because it needs lot of your graphicrecources.

AF - Off

Shader - Medium

Texture Res. is on high, it doesn't look like it takes much performance for me.

Details also on high, same as above.




Problems are the light effects.... if your graphicscard is fast enough you should be able to turn'em on ... (without blur)
Blur is only for highend users!

I had an FX5200 and i was smart enough to upgrade to an Ati 9800 pro (all-in-wonder btw ;) )
And its been worth it, that 5200 served me for 18 months but its a complete ball of crap, not worth the circuit board its printed on...

Upgrade to a decent card for £80 odd quid, an ati 9800 would suite your needs and run a lot better than that card.
Online shops or ebay may even be able to beat that price...

You dont need to go top of the range..just go as far as u can spend or as far as satisfies your needs

There is nothing like shader in configure.exe.

But in config it don't shows that.

No. It don't have crack. I downloaded crack from net.
I think that patch did some nasty changes to system and also to registry.
And thats why its not getting uninstalled. Infact there is no uninstallation to that patch.

dont unstall the patch alone...uninstall the whole game...then delete the eidos folder, adn then re install fresh, install immediately the 1.2 patch, then follow the instructions on how to make image and play without disc...

Trust me, it's working fine. You must be doing something wrong. The mini-image needs something like alkisecurom (available at www.gameburnworld.com) or curerom (available at http://forum.curerom.net/showthread.php?tid=91). Tutorials about how to use them are all over the forum. And in the mini-image readme they recommend the use of one of those two programs.

And I read somewhere that I can use the crack v1.1, checkin the web itself I realized that the crack is the Eidos one, but it's a fake cuz is taken from the Demo version and have lot's of bugs.

If someone can giveme the link for crack that ask for a dll called ms... somethin. That is the one that works fine.

Then I will test it and tell you guys if I can make work Hitman the best possible.

Now thats strange...

When you install the game from the original there should be no need for a "copied" version of the game...

The fixed exe MAY be causing the problem but if you downloaded the game then thats pretty much certainly what your problem is :D

i hav been noticing u guys discussion and it has helped me a lot to solve my prob. i am using daemon tools. the only reason the game crashed when u use the cracks found on the net. so just keep the original exe file. follow the steps mentioned on page 2 that will solve. i also use curecom and something called alkikom as anti blaxing soft. but with these 3 softs i can play the game for 3 times then i hav to restart to pc to play it again. i am almost at the end of the game. just 2 stages left. the game is really good. but if eidos can make patchs to get the work with fx5200 then y don;t they do so before releasing. the graphics looks quite impressive when it is low. so i don;t care abt the high graphics. this game is really good. so play and enjoy.if any prob then ask me by mail at : mak4bd@yahoo.com

why AlkiSecuROM.exe method doesnt work for me?
i already tried diferent aways...turning off all emulation options on daemon, enabling safedisc 4 hider to hide the drives...

any help from ppl that are using this method to play hitman 1.2?

I managed out a way to load the saved game during the mission and thought of posting it here. I have fully tested it & this won't harm ur game but u have to make a backup of ur profile from ur documents incase of any mishap.

Here is the way :

1. First of all load any level which u want 2 play.

2. Select the weapons (b4 playing the misson) *DONT 4GET THE WEAPONS (i.e keep them in mind*

3. Now play the level and save ur game as u want.

The save in slot 1 is saved by 2 files in ur documents they are :
Savegame#0.data
Savegame#0.control

Similarly,the save in slot 2 is saved by 2 files in ur documents they are :
Savegame#1.data
Savegame#1.control

The save in slot 3 is saved by 2 files in ur documents they are :
Savegame#2.data
Savegame#2.control

4. Now after playing the game u close it and u happen 2 lose ur saves but u can restore ur game from where u left.

5. To do this go to ur profiles in documents & copy the following files to a new folder :
Savegame#0.data
Savegame#0.control
Savegame#1.data
Savegame#1.control
Savegame#2.data
Savegame#2.control

6. Now start the game with same level and same weapons (which u choose b4 mission) *THIS IS MUST*

7. When the level(mission) is loaded save ur game anywhere, in slot 1, 2 & 3. This helps to sort of "open" the save game slots for u to load.

8. Press alt+tab KEEP THE GAME RUNNING and paste & replace the aleady copied following files in ur profiles in documents:
Savegame#0.data
Savegame#0.control
Savegame#1.data
Savegame#1.control
Savegame#2.data
Savegame#2.control

9. Return to the game and load (remember the savegame slot # as the time of the save will now be diff). Play and enjoy.

10. Everytime u want ur saved game loaded u have 2 repeat the process. Its easy.

I dont know if there is any other way.

I have fx5600. So I downloaded v1.2 and this new fixed exe. but when I play and shoot with a weapon it crashes to the desktop(only in shadermodel-normal mode). Whats the problem?

Im trying the CureRom method posted on page 2, and im getting 2 problems.

1. The 'Curerom settings' pages looks different to me, I cannot select a directory for Daemon tools.

2. In step 5, I annot select the image. In the drop down menu, all I get is: 'I do NOT want to use an image' or some ++++ like that.

Nevermind, I got it working by mounting the image then using the shortcut. The 'DO NOT MOUNT THE IMAGE' posted in the tutorial thing threw me off. Works great now.

The no-cd crack is not good. Best bet is mini-image plus latest curerom(for now, anyway)

Copy protections are getting so difficult to crack that in the forseeable future mini images will be the way to go as they are mush easier to maintain and quicker to release than a simple exe file.

As a matter of fact fixed exes have been known to cause users problems online when checks prove the file is not original therefore admins think its a warez version or a hacked exe for cheating reasons
