When Iam using my Linux Partition a program called Kwrited pops up alot and put this message

Message from syslogd@localhost at Mon Jun 19 04:05:09 2006 ...
localhost kernel: CPU0: Temperature above threshold

Message from syslogd@localhost at Mon Jun 19 04:05:09 2006 ...
localhost kernel: CPU0: Running in modulated clock mode

and the my computer start to get slow

is there any way to avoid that program from popping up?

You will need to rebuild your kernel and turn off the sensor monitoring within the kernel. This will stop Linux from detecting what seems to be an overheating CPU.

To be honest, get your CPU looked at or increase the cooling as it's running too hot! Unless you're an overclocker, of course :D

I really not overclocking my CPU. I don't why could be overheating. Couldn't be a temperature misreading?. Since is that way since a long time and havent failed. and By this time should be coooked by now? or I am wrong?

It could be running just hot enough to send an "alert" out, but not too hot to fry your chip. As said, I'd definately try to get a temperature reading on it. Also, if you have another CPU (same socket, of course) lying around somewhere, try swapping that one in and see if the message pops up.

It's a long time since I posted this I was on the mandriva forums and I finally got a way to disable this useless slowing resources service

on the KDE control center go to KDE Components (Or I don't how is called in english) the go to Services manager

then untick kwrited daemon and click on stop

Then end your session coz might still be running in the memory (there is no need to reboot the whole system) then restart your session again and this thing might be gone

I honestly hated this program coz didn't let me to write in terminal with it's never ending alertes. Also used to slowingd my mouse when I opeed severeal windows or when I was running games from the repos

And my computer was not overheating so much I used to have an overheating problem but I fixed it months ago and this program i don't know temperature was on 62 or 65 and this program took as severe overheating while is not (80c oe 82 then yes)

And don't even even shows the temperature celcius or so I don't what people think but I found it complete useless. Need to be improved with not so many poping up and slwoing down resource s

Now Linux partition it's lots faster without that crap monitor program running

i had this problem since Fedocar Core 5 then Kubuntu and Now I am on Mandriva.
