CS:S and HL2 lcoking up

hey pplz wondering if u could help me, when i play HL2 n CS S my comp randomly locks up and the sound repeats then it stops then about 5 seconds after that it goes back into the game but i normally die by then its really annoying and help would b much appreciated!!!!! :P

P4 3.2 ghz
512 ram
nvidia ge force 5500(my downfall!!)

How often does it do this? My PC does something slightly similar, i'm not sure if its lag on the server or my PC plus it doesn't happen very often.

All I can suggest it upgrading your drivers, and get all the latest Windows Updates. IMO I think it is your hardware, more specifically your GFX card as you said, might wanna consider upgrading? :)

I think this is something called a lag spike. On the right-hand side of your screen, do your weapons show up again (as if you bought them again) in CS:S when you get back into your game?

yeah it does come up asif i bought my guns again would u no away how to fix it???

It's just a lag spike. It's a problem with your ISP or the server ... no fix, sorry
