Ok, I used and installed the no cd crack posted on this forum (http://www.mgforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36324) (http://www.mgforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=36324%29), and it doesn't work. I also tried another patch (read on for more info).
I run Win XP, so I used the XP-patch on the game, then tried to crack the exe. It says it can't open file. So I then search for the file manually and upon clicking on the exe, it says: 'can't find current Pattern. Try next one?' and when I click Yes, and click Crack again, it gives me the same error - and I could keep this up endlessly.
I have the game installed on my Win2000-pc as well, with a crack that does work fine (even though it never got past the New Game screen, that's why I wanted to try it on this pc. Please note that I now know how to solve this problem, so don't bother, lol :)).
Using other cracks on this pc gave me an error too (Invalid file, or belongs to another version error (even though it is version 1.0 (tried it before and after the XP-patch), and/or that the game might have been cracked already (it hasn't)).
I installed the game Maximum, if that matters, and this pc is fully compatible with the game requirements (ah, except that I don't have NVIDEA, as it asks me to have in the XP Patch configuration window, but ATI Radeon Yaddayaddasomething, I hope that won't matter.. I don't think it will, right? Either way, that can't be the problem, can it?) Thank you for your time and hopefully, your replies!
The sole reason why I post problems on boards is because I always seem to find the solution 2 seconds after the post.
It works now. I don't know how or why, but I tried starting the game again and it suddenly opened, so it would seem the crack at one point, during my tries, worked. Even though the graphics look _horrible_ and it doesn't seem to react on my keyboard, but I'll get past that, eventually. Might be not having the XPpatch installed yet.
Now I just need to get it to work with the Xp-patch.
