Curerom 1.30b and DT4.03HE works for me. Make sure it is set up right... it took me a while of fiddling around to get it working but it is possible. I'll write a tutorial later on if you still have problems getting it working.

It usually takes a few days for a crack to come out. Check the 3 main crack sites (GBW, GCW, and MG) and when one comes out, it'll get uploaded there.

Hey i don't understand curerom

i installed it and i mounted my iso in DT and then i set up curerom and i run the profile it put on my desktop and it autoruns and i click start game and in the l ower rihgt right after i click start game it says unloading (something it flashes there) and i think it's basically taking away the emulation hider and i don't know why... either way i can't get it to work.... any ideas??!? or is there a patch yet?

I'm really curious about how many of those who are crying for no-cd are actually owning the game. The game is out only a day before. If you do own the game use your original cd until a crack is out. Keep checking the three major crack sites and don't just cry i can't find a crack. Usually a crack is out after at least a week from release, sometimes might take something like 6 months-one year(see starforce protected game).Those people are doing this in their spare time, they are not some kids. They do have jobs, their own lives and so on and they are not obliged by anything to respond to your requests. So just be patient.It will be out sooner or later.

I have searched in emule and i found some files. Unfortunately all those "cracks" are fakes, i think that they are virus trying to steal serial numbers... Anyway do not install any "crack" for EAW from a team called razor, those install weird things and they need to be connected to the internet to finish the installation (maybe, for sending your serial number to any site)

i tried exactly as described above with curerom. The game starts but after 1-2 minutes it gives the following error:

In the install folder there is only _except.txt and it says the following:

For now I'm just going to use my original cd, however:

I tried DT 4.0.3 + CureROM 1.30b... I set the curerom path to both LaunchEAW and the exe in game data. Both times, while the game was loading I got a tooltip down in my system tray that said:

Unloading CureROM Anit-Blacklist Measures (yes anit, not anti)

After which, the game just closes. Do I have a setting set the wrong way somewhere?

For those who have a problem with DVD Clone check it out. I have found it on another board and it works perfect:

Ok... I've worked on it some more... ((By the way: This game is awesome! Great 'sequal' to Star Wars: Rebellion, but after playing a full game (4 hours later), I'm back to square one on attempt to emulate)).

Right now:
Running Latest DT With 1 drive and BWT mounted
Run-> SR7.Stop:Hide to hide this drive
Run game->

*Error*
Emulator Detected!
Turn off any emulation software.

So.. still won't work, any thoughts from anyone? Running XP SP2 fairly current.

just take you orig dvd, make an image with the newest alc! download the second mds file from copybase.ch, and overwrite the one alc made...!!
use it with curerom and you will be able to play without the disc...

I'd like to know if anyone tried to update the game, because it seems that the update modifies the protection and the blacklisting, making curerom useless. Can anyone confirm that? Anyway it's obvious that the latest daemon tools entered in the blacklist if already needs a program like curerom to make it work. Also someone said that the game crashes.It is a bug corrected by the latest patch.Fact is that if you own the original, you still might have to uninstall your emulation software:(.

@kevindopson CD1 image is the image that you should make using alcohol 120 or blindwrite or some other tool from your original cd if you have cd version or original dvd if you have that version.

No matter what i do i cannot get it to load it keeps comming back with a message saying the original disc could not be found or authenticated. I have the DVD version and i really dont like using the disc in my drive because my reader has enough problems reading already. I have tried everything everyone has posted here. If anyone has any other suggestions please help!

Basically you recognize that you don't own the game. Why don't you read the forum rules before posting? It is stated there that you won't get any help with illegal versions. Also you might want to check the thread about what is considered and what is not considered warez.

I managed to get it to work by using SecureROM v1.1 and mounting with DTv4.03. Just mount image, open SecureROM select the sweaw.exe and open. I have my game updated to v1.02 also

Installed the game, runs fine with the actual DVD in. Used CureROM with version 1.0 of Empire at War, ran the game fine.

Updated the game to 1.02 and it stops CureROM, Anti-SecurROM, and SecuROM 7 Stopper in their tracks. Tried making a backup image of my DVD and no dice on that either. Tried uninstalling the game and erasing all config files, saved games, and registry files... reinstall and it gives me the "Original Disc could not be found or Authenticated" error even at version 1.0 now.

Kind of bummed because I hate using my DVD's for games as my DVD-ROM is pretty finicky on what it does and doesn't run, and I'm already getting errors with the EAW DVD. Guess I'll keep trying to play off the DVD until a crack comes out (IF one does).

Alright, finally, after hours of trying to figure this out, I've got it. This is a quote from another forum, works 100% both versions (1.0 and 1.02) for me. Good luck!

Heres what worked for me, after spending forever tryign to get this game working.

1) close Daemon tools and have no virtual drives
2) open curerom lite and enable it
3) run Daemon tools with every emulation anabled and mount ure image.
4) open antisecurom and choose the sweaw.exe file
5) play the game

By the way, NOTHING else works for me, this is the ONLY thing that has worked thusfar... and I've tried everything mentioned in this thread and kept getting the "Game could not authenticate DVD" error. Again, this is the ONLY way I've gotten it to work. Hope this helps!

I posted this at another forum and all the feedback said it worked.

1'st Download curerom and the newest version of alcohol 120%
2'nd start up curerom and click Options>Curerom settings click third party virtual cd drive. Click Alcohol 120% and make sure "Do not display Alcohol 120% in my virtual cd/dvd rom list" is not checked. Click apply and close.
3'rd Create a CureRom profile for the application find sweaw.exe
Click Next.
Select Alcohol 120% as the image mounting software, find your disk 1 cd image for "Backup image", leave everything default and click next.
Select your name for the shortcut and your done, now click on the shortcut to launch the game.
Worked for me hope it helps.

But this only worked on my 32 bit computer because alcohol 120% DOES NOT support my 64 bit OS so my new comp is outta luck.

Me, i've had enough. Uninstalled dt4 and alcohool, cleaned registry. Inserted the DVD. Happy play for me. F... blacklisting s... You have imagination, you can complete the missing letters. I will finish the game and i will put it in a corner until a no-cd will come out. If it doesn't, i will continue using the damn DVD. Not a bad game, though. If you remember past strategies from Lucas, i'd say it's definitely an improvement. Rumours is that you can use seurom loader combined with dt 4.03, but I'm too tired to try more of those.

As i stated before, even if you own the original, you'll be forced to uninstall any emulation software on your hard. I've tried using all of the suggestions here but to no avail.

Here is what I did:

1. Mount the DVD Image of the game using DT4
2. Loaded up CureROM
3. New Profile --> options --> 3rd Party Virtual DVD/CD - Made sure "Do NOT display.. was not selected.
4. Applied and closed
5. Clicked next - chose "Use Daemon Tools..."
6. Enabled all of the Emulators
7. Next --> Finished

Comes up with the error: Cannot find original CD so I did it again and enabled the emus again, "deactivate emus and virtual drives" did it again but this time unmounted: "please insert the correct DVD/CD"

My image is a .MDF file, anyway to make it an .MDS file?

I did all of that and then I did the SecuROM techniquie but it still didn't work.

Any Ideas?

I managed to get it working using DT4 and CureRom. Compatability deosnt matter. Just went into MCAfee firewall and blocked all internet access for sweaw.exe. I have tried just about everything else and came across this by chance. Works every single time though can take upto 45 sec. to load. Hope this helps folks.

I need to learn some programming (I'm a network admin, you have to know a little but still, EWWW programming.) or something cause no one can seem to figure out how to make ole fashion cracks anymore. The work arounds force you to have like 15 different ones for all the different ones. =X CD swapping is less trouble.

if u wanna use a minidvd file for your image u must have them both with the same name, that means if u have your image named SWEAW.mdf your minidvd image must be renamed SWEAW.mds..

Actually, Sony is not the first company using this velocity-like technology. Macromedia's SafeDisc 4.6 protection already has a similar implementation of this technology but none of them (neither SD 4.6 nor SR 7) is reliable yet. There's a lot of incompatibilities with hardware, so some people are not affected by this improvement yet and they can still use tools like CureRom or stuff like that. In fact, sometimes you can emulate and it runs ok but for the 2nd time it may stop and it doesn't work anymore. Someone else making an image wouldn't do you any good because we can't share that image. Are you making sure you're mounting the correct file? It should be the smaller one because that's the one that contains the information needed to read the bigger file.

The timeout is a good thing. That means if you may have a 40% chance of working on load up. Aslong your getting the Time out error. I was reading this on another forum.

yes! i got the mini-CD working, so the mini-disk is fine, it's just you have to mount it and wait for ages. after that use AntiSecuROM.exe to load the game

btw, im just wondering, Crashday has got the same protection as EaW, why EaW don't get cracked as fast?

you use WinRAR, just click on one of them and click on Extract, as long as you've got everything in the same directory, you're fine.

Ok guys i've been 2 a few websites b4 trying 2 figured out how 2 get this game 2 run. Finally after 3 days of trying i got it 2 run and i'll explain wat u have 2 do. These are the programs u need. 1) Daemon tools 2) CureRom 1.3

Now here is wat u do.

STEP 1. After the games is installed open curerom 1.3 and when asked 2 select the application u want 2 fix select LaunchEAW from file folder and make sure 2 leave the anti black list options ON!!! Click next and when it asks u if u want 2 use daemon tools or alcohol 120, DON'T USE EITHER OF THEM LEAVE IT ON NOTHIN. click next and complete the profile.

STEP 2. Open Curerom again after finishing the one for LaunchEAW and make a new profile. This time when asked wat application u want 2 use, go 2 where u found launchEAW and the should be a folder called "GameData" open the folder and use the app sweaw and finish it like u did for LaunchEAW.

Step 3. On daemon tools make sure that u have only 1 virtual drive set and mount the image of the game. Once the game is mounted TURN OFF all the emulation options and exit daemon tools. (THIS MEANS NO ICON ON BOTTOM CORNER. EXIT COMPLETELY)

Last Step. Once this is all done run LaunchEAW and when the splash screen comes up click play game. NOW LISTEN CAREFULLY. Once u click play game it may or may not run. if it does then ur all good if not u have keep reading. Once the splash screen closes on the bottom right where all the lil icon show up a small windows balloon and icon will pop up sayin "unloading antiblack list...." once the icon is gone quickly run sweaw and the game will run.
****NOTE****
If you are gettin the popup saying Securtiy module can not be executed that mean u have sr7stop, antiblaxx, or some other kind of program running that hides the virtual drives; close them and restore the drives if they are hidden.

If u gettin popup sayin "Orginal disc cannot b found or authincated" all u have 2 do is read the last step

Hey, I did all this and it sort of worked. The program runs, it just doesn't show up on the screen. It shows up in processes, but it doesn't actually play. Do you know how to fix this? Do I need to get the update patch?

did u make a profile for launcheaw and sweaw. did u make sure not 2 use ne mounting programs while makin the profile. if so try the last step over again that should make it work. also if u have a firewall other than the windows firewall make sure u set it 2 allow the game 2 connect online. (windows firewall alrdy has configuration for the game)

I never joined this forum untill I read wolfrains message regarding people whinning about cracks. It made me think so here I am joiniing the forum just to write this. I wanted to take a minute to thank all the people that take thier time to make cracks we can all use. If you wanted you could never post them and some of us would be forced to learn the hard way. I have to say it's appriciated I dont know how many games I have lost or ruined the cd for and w/o the cracks I would be screwed.

If you can't get the workaround to be successful, then use your original cd. If and when a crack comes out for a game, it will most likely be on one of the three main sites: GBW, GCW, and MG. Just keep checking those sites on a semi-daily basis and when one comes out, you'll be one of the first to get it. Also, keep checking in on these threads, but the posting about the same problem about not getting the workaround to be successful is really getting kind of redundant. Making no-cd cracks takes a lot of work. If you can't be patient, then learn how to make them, and be the one to break it. I'm not trying to be rude or anything, but people who post about "when is a crack going to be out?" after that question has been answered before really bugs me sometimes. People like generalchaos have the right idea, thank the people who can make cracks rather than hound them. Compliments are usually taken better than critique ...

1. Install SW:EAW use Daemon Tool 4
2. Disable your CD/DVD-ROMs
3. Install CureROM and run CureROM Lite and click Enable

can your game load with the original CD in it?

from what you've said, the no-CD crack does get over the fact that there's no CD in the drive, so this might be a problem with the game and your computer.

I apologize if this has been posted b4.
I have the original Star Wars EAW CD's, They loaded ok without any errors.
When attempting to start the game, I receive an error stating "A Required Security Module cannot be Activated. This Program Cannot Be Executed"
I found some sites and posts that said if this error occurs, Anti Blaxx, SR7 Stop, or something else is running. I can't find any program running to hide my CD Rom Drive(s). Also, I disabled and uninstalled any virtual drive I had on my PC, stopped and exited Daemon Tools, and am not running Alcohol 120. Still get the same error. Anyone have an idea what possibly can be running and/or stopping the game from loading?
Also, I loaded this game on another PC, (A little older and not as powerful) and it ran fine, I was even able to use CureRom to mount and run it without the CD.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sorry, Cancel this post. Just received a reply from the Securom Helpdesk, they had me run some registry edit programs. All is working ok now. Even CureRom is working.

If your daemon tools is v3.47 it must be uninstalled(follow the uninstallation procedures from www.daemon-tools.cc) and install daemon tools v4.03. This one is not recognised yet as emulation. Most likely they will fix that at the next patch.:(

having problems getting this crack to work, im not very computer savy so i need some help
i have mounted the image using daemon tools, and when i try to run the game a window keeps popping up saying " Emulator detected please deactivate virtual drive and emulation software" ive tried closing the program and i still have this problem
also, when i downloaded the crack, i cant figure out what to do with the file "PerceptionFunctionG.dll" could this be the prob???

Maybe this will help some people:

After you install the game & you put the no cd/dvd 1.2 patches in the correct folder, you will need to make a shortcut from the sweaw.exe file. If you try to use the 'Launcher' you will get the put disk in, or disk not found, or other errors depending on your computer. The 1.2 no cd/dvd patch has 2 files, sweaw.exe & PerceptionFunctionG.dll. You need to paste them into the \LucasArts\Star Wars Empire at War\GameData folder on your hard drive. If you are doing it right, it will ask you twice to overwrite the existing files. Again, do NOT use the launcher OR the shortcut that the installation puts on your desktop. You can delete the default desktop shortcut. Repeat: you need to make a shortcut from the sweaw.exe file to your desktop.

This is with the reloaded no cd/dvd 1.2 patches.

now how to do it:
1. install Daemon tools
2. unpack EaW mini-image somewhere
3. mount the image with Daemon tools
4. make sure no emulation options are enabled in Daemon tools
5. disable all other emulation software, including any DVD/CD drives emulated by Alcohol
6. Exit Daemon tools, but keep the image mounted (it will ask)
7. unpack the secuROM loader
8. make a shortcut of that loader
9. add the following to the Target line of the shortcut: " -r [EmpireAtWar_Directory]\GameData\sweaw.exe"
10. change the Start In line to "[your EmpireAtWar directory]\GameData\"
11. and now play

i had a few problems because the game gets pass the varify stage, but it just won't start, it just exits stright away. and then i found out that it was because it's not started inside its gameData directory, so it can't find required files.
so if you don't see any message boxes but the game just won't start, step 10 is the bit made nearly made me through the keyboard across the room.

I downloaded a patch, but I have the DVD copy and now I'm not sure if it's working right, because now when I start the game I get the Star Wars Empire at War splash screen (not the one with start game or anything, just the one like the load screen full screen thing) but then it just goes away and nothing else loads up? Does the game work properly when you use your original disc? Sometimes the crack is the actual cause of problems ...

yup that was the problem, I had downloaded the 1.4 patch and the crack wasn't working with that, so I just reset to the 1.02 patch until a more updated crack comes out. Thanks.

Your method worked on a friends PC, but for some reason that image makes my PC's freeze. THe only thing they have in common is they both use Nforce motherboards, whereas my friends system has a ULI chipset board.
When i mount the BWT file in deamon tools the PC freezes, and i have to go into safe mode to un-mount the image before i can start the PC up again.
Got any ideas/alternate images that work?

(P.S: The event log is full of errors when i mount, it seems that it spits errors about a 'bad block' and then just goes nuts and freezes the system)

They've updated the protection at every patch since v1.2. Currently this game is at v1.5 and no no-cd available for it.v1.3-15 don't have a working no-cd solution.

Yes but it works with the image in the link i quoted, but that image freezes on my two systems here. To repeat, my friend runs 1.05 and his works with that image and curerom, but instead of working for me deamon tools has a fit.

have you tryed the image file poasted on http://m0005.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_sw_empire_at_war.shtml#Empire%20at%20War%20v1.0 4%20[GERMAN]%20No-CD/Fixed%20Image? on there, it says it should also work fine for any version.
i haven't tested it yet as im extreamly low on disk space and lost interest in the game when i got a new graphics card (X800GTO) so now im playing Oblivion with everything on medium and GRAW.

fdjc4: We have our own copies, its just that neither of us particulary care for CD's. I actually run a gaming internet cafe (Cyber cafe to the americans) and if i cant make a game work with a no-CD or image, i cant use it here because people either steal or damage the discs incredibly fast.

Wolfsrain: I did have 4.03 of deamon tools, but not the updated SPTD. I updated that and it didnt make much difference however. I'm updating and trying the latest curerom now, but i still cannot mount the image, as it freezes long before i try and launch curerom/the game.

wuyanxu: I had tried that image, but not with the updated deamon tools/curerom. I'll give it a shot now.

I am sticking with 1.2 myself because of that, though does anyone know whether the expansion updates the original game while installing it? Won't buy it if it does, since 1.2 is the only one worth using until a true NO-CD patch is released for the later versions, well, in my view anyway. Crossing fingers... ;)

If its a mini image it should still work ;)

Mini Images are, in the longer run much better than Fixed Exe's as the games original files remain intact so no problems can arise dew to a fixed exe (eg the Godfather is a popular one).

Usually a game nowadays need original files as well to update, hence if you can get a mini image for your game, and it works, use it :nod:

ALl i see is a window that appears for a fraction of second and then diasappears... and then nothing happens. Instead i installed the game on my dad's laptop and it worked jut fine. Did someone manage to fix the problem, or at least bypass it?
