Do you have a game that has 2.0 firmware on itself? It's probably a brick...
Otherwise try upgrading to 2.60 from the PS site itself.

Yes i have and there is no words or letters, when i start the upgrader (King Kong game and Pursuit Force game). I dont want to upgrade it to 2.60, because then i wont be able to downgrade it back to 1.52. I need the 2.00 just to play these two games (King Kong game and Pursuit Force game). Other games i have in iso and i play them with UMD emulator.

I hope someone can provide a solution for I am having the same problem too. When I place the EBOOT data into my memory card, the icon shows and says v2.00 upgrade but when my PSP restarts I just see a recycle icon on the top left corner and the X button and O button icons on the bottom of the screen. Not cool! I wanna play GTA dammit!!! :redface2:

apparently most users are finding problems when they upgrade their PSP, hence they are going back to downgrading it...i would suggest the same...

Sony doesn't want any PSP's running anything else but the
most current firmware; hence I would suspect some firmware
protection is interfering with your mods.

It isn't going to get any better.
Ultimately Sony plans to include critical update data
on the UMD game disk itself.
Which means your 1.5 or 2.0 PSP would auto upgrade to 2.6+
the minute you loaded a game with such features built into it.

Sony isn't going to tell you if the game has it either:
it's part of your user agreement:
you use Sony hardware to play Sony software
you will run whatever Sony says the PSP needs to run it.
Otherwise you risk having a pretty pricey brick.

In short if you want a PSP to run homebrew use only homebrews.
If you want to play current games
GET ANOTHER PSP YOU GOOBER
Sheesh, think of it as you have an excuse to buy the ceramic white PSP now.

Don't listen to the scaremongers.

Go to system settings then restore default settings...

That should sort you out..

Scaremongers? Moi?
Look at my past hit record.
My judgement calls and pronouncements regarding what Sony/Nintendo/Microsoft
would ultimately do have been near 100%.

Your restore default settings will work for now; but not for long.
The PSP M1 batteries will be out later next year.
3x the playing time, up to 5x the length of peak power use-recharge in 1/3rd.
The current PSP firmware has it's battery severely governed.
I don't see how anyone currently running earlier firmwares will be
able to update to the newer battery pack without losing the
features of the earlier firmware.

SCEA doesn't want anything else running on their units,
this is a matter of public record.
The quasi-viral CD's they released in a covert attempt to deploy
their own DRM should be enough to tell you that I mean everything I say.

It's not scaremongering if it's true.:eyemouth:
