Best PS2 version

I ahd a V9 with a enw lens that could run DVD RW discs,soemthign died on it and I had to revert to a V7 even with a new lens it cant read them,my Q is whats the best PS2 version? the newer slim lines or the last of the older PS2s?

TBH, there isn't much difference between all the versions, the only difference will be different architecture, or improved software. It would make sense that the Slim-lines are the best version and they are the newest, and everything i've tried to play on mine works! ;)

Yeah, I originally though that, the longest i've have my slim-line run non-stop was 6 hours, and I had no problems with overheating.
