Someone Please help me with mafia!!

hey everyone

Ive installed mafia fine and i can play all game modes but when i go to play single player the game runs through the intro but just before the actual single player game starts it crashes to desktop!!!
can anyone help?
it would be much appreciated thanx

try and get the latest patch for the game.

also update your graphic card drivers, and direct x.
