The PSP earplugs are good when you're alone in the room, but when you're traveling on train, plain, car etc... they are useless. I like watching umd movies on it sometimes. But while watching it with the earplugs that came with the PSP i can't hear a thing when people are talking. I already turned the volume all the way up. Even tried the settings for umd video to +2, which didn't do anything at all when tested it. It's good in the room when i'm alone i can hear things in the background that i can't hear on my home cinema, but that's about it.

Anybody got other earplugs that are much better then the ones that came with the pack? Or should i just get some speakers instead?

Thx for your answers.

Ok the Earplugs you get with the PSP are nothing special, i have both the playgear stealth and playgear amp, and i reccomend both, the playgear stealth earplugs block pretty much all of the outside sounds like chatter and cars etc... and the playgear amp well what can i say, if you like music and loud noises its great it, cradels your PSP and serves out the sound loudly too, you can sit it on your desk and watch and even play your PSP while having it connected to the playgear amp and it can run on batteries, it comes with two different length input cables and they even can plug into your Ipod or similar things and play them through it. and just if you get the playgear stealth earplugs you should also invest in a playgear pocket, its the logitech case for the PSP it protecs the PSP very well and you can keep the PSP in the case while playing and further of all one great hidden feature is that it folds over to hold the PSP and cradle it much like the playgear amp does so you can put it on your desk, lap while watching movies :)

Ok thanks for the advice, i might get the amp and stealth. I wanted to buy it, but wasn't sure it was worth the money.

I'd get some headphones that actually cover your ears, although that isn't too good for portability.

You can also make your own amplifier (http://tangentsoft.net/audio/cmoy-tutorial/)if you enjoy such projects.

I tested that yesterday with headphones i use for my pc games. When pluged in, on the screen Heavy popped up and it was a whole lot louder. I tried with the PSP headphones for settings heavy, but that didn't change a thing.
Also another thing i discovered while using the other headphone; i could set it louder or softer and not change the volume of the PSP output you see on the screen while using the PSP headphone. It probably got something to do with that extra thing you need to plug in next to the usual headphone port.
