Mmmm if it's starting to appear on all your games,
my first guess would be that your vid card is burning out.
It happens from time to time. Most people replace them before
they have a chance to fizzle out.
From what I've read the effects of a vid card on the fritz aren't
unlike what you're seeing.
Try swapping your vid card to see if that does it.
If it doesn't, then I'd be inclined to think it's a software glitch in the OS
that just cropped up.

That great, but they still fizzle out too; it's an imperfect world what can you do?
Swap out the card with a similar one.
I'm sure any one of your friends would let you borrow their's for long enough
to see if that's the problem.
Just be sure to transport the GPU in a pink static safe baggie
or you risk frazzling that one too.

I would try re-installing drivers and direct x first. No artifacts in the image so try software first.

I had just thought about corrupted drivers good point.
Reinstalling should clear it up if'n that's the problem.
My oversight, I tend to blame hardware due to being a mac user,
our software is rarely problematic.

Those are artifacts my friend, only caused by overheating, is your card over-clocked by any chance? Just to prove that i'm right (excuse the big-headedness) open your case and put a fan next to it, that should temporarily solve the problem and prove that it is the graphics card.

AMD athlon(tm) 64processor 2800+ 1.80GHz, 512 MB RAM.
i don`t think i have overclocked it but i can try to reinstall directx and the video card. i can try to put in another card if this doesn`t work.
i have 128MB DDR memory with 256bit bus this is some info from the video card and i can upload new horrble screenshots to
