I am moveing to a dail up only aera soemtiem soon and I when I think about reinstalling XP on dail up I cringe...dose anyone know of a way to backup the updates so I can install them later?
Looking for SP1 but SP2 will do in apinch ><

you can order SP2 on disk, it may help it saiys on the microsoft website how to contact them but more than likely you will needa pay for it.
there are offline installers but they are not available using windows update but here is a thought thats worth a try:
go to MS update here:
http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us
run that and look at the downloads it detects you need, then open another window and go to microsoft.com, here search for the downlaods (the KB123456 etc that kinda stuff) and more than likely you can get an offline installer for use and backup purposes just remeer to save the file rather than run it. Make a directory for em all ;)
one mroe thing, i tihnk there is a folder where MS downlaods its updates but i tihnk they are deleted after a period of time or something to that effect but in theory my above method should work.
