View Full Version : A question of Knights of the Temple 2
I could play it but after I closed it with pressing (Alt+F4), I couldn't play it.
I clicked the icon of the main program, it showed " checking disc ", but my PC rebooted in the midst of the check.
How can I solve this problem?

Have you unpluged your IDE drives. From what i recall, it's starforce protected, so it's the combo daemon tools 4, sfnightmare, IDE cables unplugged

I have unpluged my IDE drives.
I suspect this problem results from closing the game incorrectly.
How can I solve this problem?
Help!!!!!!!

Okay, again the correct order on doing things:
1.Unplug your IDE cables
2.Mount image in daemon tools4
3.Install the game(at starforce game, you always must install the game, after you removed the IDE cables, otherwise the protection will kick in anyway)
4.if necessary use also sf nightmare
The correct order for sfnightmare is:
a.disable node
b.disable cd
c.disable node
d.disable the channels where your optical drives are supposed to be(for me are on secondary master and secondary slave so i disabled the both secondary channels)
Alternate method: use sfcure
1. Install the driver(setup.bat)
2. reboot
3. Stop the computer and disable the IDE cables
4. mount image in alcohol latest version
5. Install the game
6. Use sfnightmare following all the steps
7. Before starting the game, launch from command line start.bat(included in sfcure)
8. start the game, enjoy(don't forget to use the stop.bat from sfcure, after finished playing)
The second method I consider to be more succesful in the case of starforce protected game, even if it is a bit more complicated(you are supposed to launch the commands for sfcure from the run command from windows)
P.S: for copy utilities I put a thread on this forum. If you consider it useful please vote for it as a sticky
Thanks for your reply.
I think the problem is attributed to other factors because I can play POP T2T which is also protected by Starforce.

Maybe the RMPS Data isn't as correct as in your Pop2 image. Try again to read the original with a maximum of 4x Rmps reading speed.

You are on a totally different game there.
I got it to work with just DT4(all Emulation on) and disabling my CD n DVD drive from Device Manager. CD Versions are so much easier than messing with DVD versions :)
I could play it a short while ago after I disabled other CD drivers. However, I can just successfully run the game twice.
Now, the problem occurs again (reboot while checking disc), please help me!

I first installed the game by an original dvd, and i played.
I made a copy of it, with alcohol 120.
I mount the image on DT4, but it doesn't play, even if i unplugg the ide drives.
It stills needs the original dvd.
I then uninstalled the game and i started all over again, using your instructions (first unplugg the cables, then mount image on DT4 etc...), but........the game (somehow) keeps the cd-code that i gave from the first installation, so it does'n ask me again for a code!
So, even when the drives are off, it is making a cd-check and it founds that the "cd-key does not correspond with the one i gave"!!!
What can i di?
I tried to remove thiw information (of the first installation of the game) with sfcure, i tried to clear up my registry....but nothing happens.
Somehow, a part of the installation (the cd-key that i gave) still remains on the pc....... and i have the same problem again!!!
What can i do??
